I will tell you this: you do not get dublicates in a single session, so play as long as possible. When I am done I leave the program running so as not to receive duplicate uniques and set items. Also, You need to have all of your %to find magic item gear on one character. Go as high as you can, some players have over 3000 percent!!! Once it is that high, you get uniques and sets by smashing crappy barrels, lol.
Best way to obtain Magic sets/Unique items
You misunderstood, I guess. You won't get any REPEATED unique or set items in a single session, so the longer you play, the more likely you are to see new things, and to complete sets.

Ahhh, that makes sense alot more sense. Because after reloading I began noticing repeat set and unique items. I think it was just the ways the odds hit me, which made me think I had to reload. I have a ring i made with 6 5% find magic item bonuses: I'm curious if this really does count as 30%??. I found that the mobs in the Kithraya Caverns were dropping alot of set items; so I think maybe those mobs may have contained a higher magic item drop--or it was random luck yet again. Any heads up to whether or not this is true--and if it is, where some other hot spots are--would be much appreciated :mischief:

So far as I know, it's just random.I found that the mobs in the Kithraya Caverns were dropping alot of set items; so I think maybe those mobs may have contained a higher magic item drop--or it was random luck yet again. Thanks for putting my mind at ease !
God, I'm noticing that I have to leave my computer constantly running DSII in order not to get the same exact uniques and set items...very frustrating. I mean i have 4 lorethal's grace bracers, lol. I mean, this game has tons of uniques and sets; why couldn't they have a item spawner that took into consideration the items already in the game save data?

I do think some items only show up once you enter Vet mode, then more in Elite (which should unlock all items). One of the resident tech-heads could verify that, but there are items I don't see at all when playing in Merc mode that I come by easily in Vet.Mycerin wrote:Thanks for putting my mind at ease !

Lorethal's Set is fairly low level, but a good set for Merc. You might be getting that as it may be the top of the food chain in Merc. *shrugs* I'm just guessing here, but it makes sense to me. I have been known to be wrong though

A level X creature can drop any item that is level X or lower, so as you encounter higher leveled enemies, you'll find better equipment.JessicaElytis wrote:I do think some items only show up once you enter Vet mode, then more in Elite (which should unlock all items). Ahh, so if you wish to farm cerrtain items, then you should hunt the appropriate level for that item...well, that is obvious, but say that you want to finish off a set and the last item is level 45; then you want to hunt monsters that are level 45 because that will narrow the field down to 45 and lower.
Which brings up another question; is there a lowest level item cap per monster. That would be good to know; say a 45 level enemy would drop items from 45 to 30 or something??? probably not, but it would be cool if it worked out that way.
