Well, a complete tactical guide would be kinda a cheat.

I'll say to stock up on healing potions, keep healing spells ready, a few resurrect scrolls, and to look around the area for things to help you.

But in any event, give it a go first *Grins* If you can't beat him, then ask for help. He's tough, not unbeatable ;)

Hey Jessy, thanks, what about the things that are stationed around the circle there where Valdis is? I seem to remember someone saying that he can be shot by somethnig but I can't figure what? :( :(

Well, there's one or two of those things on the way up the mountain. Why not hit a few and see what happens? :mischief:

Though, in retrospect, I don't call it cheating to say that Valdis can not be beat by conventional means. The game designers were a bit narrow-minded in forcing people to win the battle they way they wanted it won. Though the cinimatics that come from the final battle make it worth it :D

He should be chasing you and attacking you. You just need to lead him to one of the eyes / guns.

Say, I'm sorry guys I have got mistaken here. It was not Valdis that I was fighting, it was that 'Dark Mage' guy. :o :o

It was a pig to do and mutch worse than Valdis IMHO. :speech:

I just kept atacking him with all I'd got and I found that you haven't to let him 'charge' any of the oblisks, otherwise he gets them all throwing those 'shock balls' and your number is quickly up!

So I attacked the oblisks just as quick as he did and he didn't get any going. In between I gave him what for and soon had him down. This sems like the way to do it guys...get the oblisks away from him as fast as you can.

Sorry about the misunderstanding here and real thanks for all your help. ;)

Oh, the last Mage. Yeah, he's a bugger.

The spell he casts actually shields the obilisk and prevents you from using it. And yes, the "shock ball" the shield casts out are deadly. A friend of mine that cheats constantly (no challenge there, imo), even found out they kill people though the "invincible" cheat code

Personally, I love that touch. Means pure cheaters are screwed at that stage until the learn to actually play the game :mischief:

Slow spells and weapons that petrify/freeze are nice to take against boss-casters. Slow spells sometimes make them "fumble" spells, and petrifying/freezing stops them cold

Archmage

Archmage was the easiest boss fight ever.

I just had to keep thumping him with my 3 halfgiants and my myrthilhorn whilst avoiding his snail-fast skulls.
