I don't know the details but most people play this as a bow hunter. They use the bow skill tree. Some (not all) use wolves for a distraction and the strength of the pack which will affect you and the wolves. Refresh is used in combination with Call of the Hunt (refresh so you can recharge the skill more often). Art of the Hunt tree is also nice. Herbal Remedy. Study Prey is one of the best skills. so is heart of the oak.

That should get you started. You can always change your skills around with a mystic later. Just find good bows and happy hunting.

PS It is important not to screw up stats. Take no int. Take 400 or so dex. Take the rest strength (does more damage with a bow...I know makes no sense but hey)
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

From personal experience i would say max ur primary attack first and foremost. Dont worry too much about the nature class if ur in the beginning stages, and please DO NOT choose nature first! Also art of the hunt is a must, max that whole tree but make sure u get the bottom first as it adds alot of pierce damage. Ive found that putting skills in wood lore really doesnt help you that much. So max marksmanship, puncture shots(whole tree), art of hunt tree, herbal remedy, Study prey tree, call of hunt tree and volley. Volley can be very usefull when u have a 3+ all skills piece of equiptment like stonebinder cuffs or the tracker set, which can bring the percentage up to 20%. Ok now onto nature . Max heart of oak tree, regrowth tree, plague tree. As an archer it is nice to have pets to line up the enemies for you but the only pet that can survive long enough to fulfill that role for me has been the core dweller, all the others just die to quickly in the higher difficulties. My strategy with the hunting class is to try to climb up the mastery tree fairly quickly at the beginning until you reach puncture shots then start filling the primary attack with all ur points then u go to art of the hunt and then to herbal remedy and so on. Also keep adding all ur attribute points to dexterity dont worry too much about adding to strength the mastery bonuses will take care of that. And ensnare really isnt useful at all definitely put it in plague

I have a Ranger too and i use the wolves and the Markmanship skills because they work good together. And in the nature skill tree be sure to max out the skill "Heart Of Oak" it gives u a lot of extra health. And max out the Survival Instinct skill for your wolves. But that is how i use Nature/Hunting. :)

I've played wolves characters and Shanco is right that it takes some doing to keep them alive. With survival instinct and HoO it means they have a lot of hit points and can take a beating with that last 1/3. Normally I would say try the regrowth line to keep them alive (you should take some points so they start each battle with full health) but a Ranger probably spends more time shooting the bow than casting spells to keep wolves up. If you are in a battle where the wolves are tanking but dying to special attacks or AOE a quick summon then refresh then summon can bring out 2 wolves quite fast.

I was able to keep the wolves contributing to the battle with legendary hades by healing them and giving them HoO SI (plus resummoning). Bow hunter might be just as easy to solo that battle with insane dps though.
