main character

Post by kpendleton »

What should the main character to look like? Humans, like in 1 and 2? Or aliens, which is something new?
I definately think there should be a variety of species to make your main character out of.
I would like to see all of the species from the games, or atleast the humanoids that could wear armor, robes, etc. What do you think?

There was some discussion about this in another thread - probably the what do you want in K3 one. I'd quite like to see an Oblivion-style face creator, rather than having to pick from the rather odd set of stock faces the games offer you. I don't mind if you can be an alien or not.

it would be a dream come true for me in this game if you could pick either alien or human but also if you could pick the species from the films like Zabrak, Cerean and Neutolan etc. Or if you could become the same species as Yoda and Yaddle and at the last minute find out what the true species is called!

Aliens 100% yes!

I think aliens would add a new feel to the game as a main character. But the option for humans would be great too.I would like to play as a Twilek Sith or a Sith Selkath.

I would like the ability to choose to play as an alien but not for KotOR as I would much rather continue as Reven. It would be rediculous creating a new character to fight the true sith and not play as reven. So ultimately i have to go with humans.

I think it would truly kick some major @$$ if you could be an alien would totally go Dark Zabrak but would be happy with the option to play as human to.

I'd be happy to be able to choose Zabrak (with a double-bladed lightsaber) to play the dark side story of the game.

PS: Are near-humans (like the Echani and the Miraluka) considered aliens?

For me NO! They are so much like humans that they might as well be humans with just a few minor modifications. Kind of like clans like in NARUTO. ;)
  :p ;) :D :o :( :)

I know, they look very much like humans (hence the near-human label). But how do the Star Wars humans consider them? Based on the biology's meaning, alien "is an organism that is not indigenous to a given location but instead has been accidentaly or deliberately introduced to a new location" (Alien). Therefore, anything that is not natural from a human's homeworld is an alien (from a human's perspective).

As fun as using aliens would be, I have to say that having a human would be the best. If it were a different species then it would ruin the storyline.

i have to say that i think there should be the option of both "aliens" and humans, with facial feature changes. there were some situations in K1 and K2 where i would have liked to combine facial hair and head hair (even though facial hair is technically on your head, but y'all know what i mean) from different heads. also, when i say facial feature choices, i think that it should be available to all species, not just humans while the non-humans were left out just because they're the newbies.

and for God's sake, don't pull a Jedi Academy and make some species available only to one gender except humans. not being able to play a male twi'lek or zabrak pissed me off in that game (i couldn't care less about a female rodian or kel-dor). if aliens are made playable, but not to both genders, i will forever curse KotOR. or at least until i realize that it's pointless to do so, and become hooked on it again

What about playing as one of the true Sith? I know in other threads a lot of people are saying that they should factor heavily, seeing as they are who Revan went to find. Maybe you could play an exiled Sith, or one with the usual problems of memory loss. That would give you freedom to go lightside or darkside. I know they're Sith so you'd expect them to be evil, but, it'd be an interesting take I think

Again memory loss? Neh, and as a true sith, what ever they are, you are almost bound to go darkside. If you were to go darkside, it wouldn't be special, seeing all sith are evil. It would be special of you were a lightside Sith, but where's the freedom in that?
I personally don't like playing wookies or orclike creatures. I find a lot harder to roleplay them. Twilek would be okay, since they are widley spread in that universe. One of the echani would be cool too. However, I would like to see special abilities for each race, like d&d. It would make char-creation more special.

Reading around the other posts it seems lots of people want Revan back as a main character, which would be awesome if they could pull it off. But like you say SupaCat, KotOR probably has had its share of memory loss. So what if Revan was stripped of his powers by the Sith. You could begin the game as Revan and be powerful, but only for a short while - then you ran into the True Sith who are somehow able to take your powers from you, and you have to struggle to regain your connection to the force.
