From start to Ilos: 1 day

Ok so playing M/E for PC...it took some getting used to but after letting it sink in, it's actually a really good game. Couple of things that really stood out:

Camerawork - really liked the whole shaky cam thing, makes you feel like you're with the party.
Graphics - maybe cause this was made for the console kiddies, but graphics are really good, like fps good.
Setting/Environment - the announcements in the elevator, the ambience, the general feel as you walk around the citadel, the overall immersiveness. BioWare has done it again.
Mako - People didnt like it for whatever reasons, I had a blast with the thing. And it added another aspect to the game.

things I didnt like so much:

Conversation: I really liked the radial dial and the way you can have your answers ready before hand. I didnt like having to listen to all that dialogue. Im a 'scan for best answer' kinda dude. First time its amazing, after your 4th-5th reload- NOT SO MUCH
Inventory- HORRIBLE. Someone dropped the ball big time here. Why cant we drag/drop onto a doll? Why are we going into 3 and 4 subscreens to change upgrades. Goiing between character is akward. Maybe it gets fluent after awhile but it doesnt seem smooth at all.
Conversation: Sorry I have to go back to this. For all the talking going on you'd think this game last for months before you complete it. There should always be an option to bypass convo. ALWAYS. I'd rather get the recap from my journal anyway.

Ok so from the title you see I havent done much exploring, but: Is it worth it?
From doing the main campaign and w/e easy missions were closeby I've been able to stay geared enough to getting up ti Ilos with no problem at all. I used to explore 100% of games, but usually its just more crap to accumulate (and usually not better than your current gear). Can someone tell me the points of alllll those other planets other than to keep your campaign goin?

All in all, if this is the way BioWare and RPG genre is going, I like it. I finally feel like gaming has gone into the 21st century and not just rehashing crap from the 80s with better graphics, the entire format is updated. Hell, for 1st half of the game I felt like I was 'playing' a movie.

There is no real point in doing all the planets - they are just added to make this supershort game a little bit longer.
You can complete the main quest within a few hours - with level scaling you will never encounter a real challenge.

(Spent the greater part of last night exploring the other planets to wrap uo side quests and stuff - then went onto Ilos)
Well Im starting to believe it's better to have a way polished and short n sweet main story than a game that goes on and on forever. I'll probably replay for the other classes. Playing soldier kinda sucked cause of all the decry and elec checks I failed. I came to the conclusion that this is the next of rpgs, top down 3/4 was king for a good long while but this new format is definitely the next level

You can skip some dialog by hitting space after 1-2 seconds of talk. :)
