The game actually keeps a backup save for you. I've never tried using it, but you might try reading this thread or this thread for information about it.

Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

try with another character (maybe one of the six saves with BW), though you will have go through BW again
The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.

So you need to undo / reset your quest progress, right?
The easiest way to do this is to switch (export) your char into multiplayer (LAN) mode. By default you party will rolled back in Eurilan prison since you got no quest progress in multiplayer mode
Multiplayer (LAN) mode have separated save files:
1. party (characters)
2. quest progress
You can switch back to singleplayer mode by manually copy your save file from multiplayer save to singleplayer save directory. But again, you will start at Eurilan prison.
Or you can continue playing in multiplayer (LAN) by your self, but with max party limit (2 companions)
--> Backup your save files first
