The (Un)Official GameBanshee World of Warcraft Reference Thread

Post by Galuf the Dwarf »

After reviewing the concept of this with Buck and swcarter, I decided I'd make a thread to help users of this forum find resources to help people improve their gaming experience. By this, I mean by providing hints for quests or completing achievements as well as suggestions for gear, abilities and talents.

On the contrary note, this thread is NOT for the following: Plain advertisment or rather lewd sites, gold-buying services, or any such. This thread is to provide legitimate, helpful links. I also wish to be the sole supplier of these links in order to keep the number of links and their validity in check.

Well, on that note, here we go:
 • Blizzard's official US World of Warcraft website: For the latest official news on happenings with World of Warcraft, as well as their own forums and resources. (Note: Beware of Blizzard WoW forum trolling)
 • The WoW Armory: This Blizzard tool allows player to find names of characters and guilds, and to track character talents, gear, and achievements, as well as suggested upgrades for gear for characters.
 • Wowhead.com: A website dedicated to tracking data on quests, gear, abilities, talents, etc.
 • WoWWiki.com: A website dedicated to lore and trivia of the Warcraft universe, from background behind NPCs, regions and events to inspirations behind said concepts. It also has lists of various items and abilities which may help in ways that other sites may not have easy access to, such as ratioes on Hit Rating cap and such.
 • Petopia: A website dedicated to info on Hunter pets, such as types of pets, their abilities or talents, how to care for them, and also news such as major changes to hunter pets.
 • El's Extreme Anglin': A site dedicated to info on the Fishing secondary profession, such as where and what skill level to retrieve training, useful fishing spots, and useful items retrieved from fishing.
That's about it. I may add more links later, but this is what I could come up with for now. Enjoy. :)

MMO-Champion - World of Warcraft Guides and Raid Strategies has the best talent calculator IMHO and very fast updates on PTR developments.

Elitist Jerks needs no explanation.

Heh, that wish died about 7 minutes after you started the thread. Maybe how this could work is you edit your first post to include the sites that you think should be included here, and other people post in the thread with comments and suggestions.

For example, I always use thottbot.com when I need to look up quest information, and it's worked pretty well for me.

Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Ah yes well.

Forgive my rudeness, but this only seems reasonable.
Even if one is only claiming *the* unofficial thread.
