Windows 2000 and BG1 (An Assertion?)

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has successfully run BG:TotSC under Win2k.

I have played through several areas with no problem, but on the Lighthouse area, I am getting an error that "An Assertion failed in D:\Dev\Baldur\ObjCreature.cppat line 6012"

Any ideas about this? It drops me right to the desktop...

I did read something that said Windows XP can only run brand spankin' new games while remaining stable, but nothing specific about BG1... Tried re-installing? (Meaning BG1, not Windows)
