need help just starting
hey i just got iwd2 and i was wondering if i should make my own party and if i should what should i make and if not what premade party should i use? any help would be appreciated
Making your own party is pretty fun, and it gives you a lot more choice. Give a look at the sticky's for the forum, they give you a primer on how the multi-classing works for the game. Have you played any other IE games?
In terms of how I play the game, you essentially need two warriors, a rogue, a cleric, and two mages to fill out a party of six. What I normally go with is a Paladin, a Warrior/Barbarian(4/xx), a Ranger/Rogue (1/xx), a Fighter/Cleric(4/xx), a Sorcerer, and a Rogue/Mage(3/xx). It gives you a good balance, though everyone will give you a different party, and many are much more powerful than mine.

If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.
Essential for a strong party are a pure class cleric and sorcerer (or wizard or diviner).
Very useful are a druid and a bard.
Nice to have is a character with at least one thief level and enough skillpoints to handle traps and locks.
It's also nice to have someone strong enough to laugh about 15 damage reduction.
Don't multiclass your casters, you'll cripple them.
If you post a party you want to play you'll get advice for optimizing.
