War Hound and Morden Snow Canyon question.

Post by kricius »

Sorry for the long title, but i truly need someone that has finished the quest to spoiler me about how to get the "Morden snow canyon" quest done.

I know it has somwthing to do with that chest that drops a transmute spell and one potion. I tried to use the transmute spell on the cage, tried to drop and use another transmute over it near the cage. Tried to drop the potion near the cage and use transmute... but nothing worked.

Could someone send me a PM or even answer here? I've been trying to do that for years, and still i can't seem to realize how to do that.

HELP PLEASE. :(

This quest doesn't sound familiar to me. Where are you seeing it? If it's a part of the original campaign, then you'll find walkthroughs here. If it's a part of Broken World, then you'll find walkthroughs here.

SWC
Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

Indeed it's not standard, the Morden Snow Canyon is accessible by a mod (a 'mod expanding mod' actually).

@kricius: Your approach is generally correct. Unfortunately this part of the mini-quest is a bit vulnerable as it seems. :(
Sadly it never has been worked out since i just wasn't sure if people take notice at all of this mod, but maybe the time really has come to revise this mod soon. ;)
Totally modded.

Thanks

Really nice to know that I've not spent like 1 year++ trying to figure it out for nothing. I normally just add the 2 mods and ignore this quest after sometime trying to get it done without any exit (althought there was one time when a graal mage teleported from the canyon and I could fight it). Just thought I could ask for help here since I couldn't find much information on other foruns.

I'd apreciate a revision when/if it is possible. Pretty sure there are many others who use this mod also.

And i would appreciate it that people just post their problems/feedbacks/critics earlier - specially for mods with 'alpha' in their file names.

Sadly this latency between mod release and feedback is common for DS2 and its community, often problem reports arrive far beyond any usable time frame to remember the technical details and to make quick updates.
Also 4 years have passed since DS2 came out. So expect of modding here and there and doing some tests, i'm not playing actively DS2 anymore - after all that time there is not much enthusiasm left.
Totally modded.

Agreed xD

And I play from the very week they released the demo. As my PC is pretty old, DS2 is one of the top games i'm able to play (i uninstall and reinstall to keep any enthusiasm's left in myself - haven't get to lvl 100 with any party in the last 2 years). :o

About the discrepancy between release date and report: i just saw other topics on net from people who got this quest to work (1 or 2 actually - u even spoilled one of them) and i thought i was doing something wrong. I also PMd Killer 1/2 months ago, but i think u don't answer to PMs anymore. So i decided to post here as my last try.

For those who are still interested, finally i have updated both mods - the War Hound mod itself and its 'expansion mod' about the Morden Snow Canyon.

Feel free to complain about, although i would appreciate it that this was the last time i have treated these mods – but you know, there are always things that may stand another tuning. ;)
Totally modded.
