Heal life problem

Hi. Can anyone tell me how to use Heal Life on someone else (like a Trader). I tried giving it several times and nothing happens. I only ave level one of it and my alignment is good

At higher levels the heal spell will gain an AOE effect. Merely using it will heal any non-hostile NPCs in the vicinity. No targeting required.

Thanks for answering. What about at lower levels though. I only have the first level of it. Is it useless at that stage??

Well, it heals yourself doesn't it? So, it isn't totally useless at that level. But the sheer amount of mana you have to expend to use the skill once makes it a power you should only get as a formality. A much better spell to preserve your own life would be Physical Shield.
