Weapon Focus Glitch !

Post by Joe Schmo »

Please Help!

I finally got this game running on an old Pentium III last week. I've got a party rolled up and were up to LV 3 and I just noticed a bummer of an error.

I have a Dwarf FTR, using a Battleaxe & Shield. He has 17 STR (+3), BAB of +3, and Weapon Focus Battleaxe (+1). Weapon Focus was taken as his 2nd LV Fighter bonus feat. So he should be swinging that death wedge at +7 right? Well NO! I noticed he was at +5. If a put any other weapon in his mitts, he has a +6, but popping in his "supposed" favored weapon actually gives him a -1 instead of a +1 ! Cry-KEE ! Upsetting !

I have up to Official Patch III installed, no Trainers, no Mods or Fan-Fixes. But I do have a grumpy Dwarf, help!

For extra Background info, I first thought my Dwarf caught another disease (He's had 1 so far, fixed at the church of Cuthbert for $240 gold) that was sapping his STR (without being displayed or something). But then I started swapping weapons and figured out it was most likely Weapon Focus giving me issues.

Update

So... I guess nevermind on any help with this issue. The Save game file has wandered off on it's own somewhere, perhaps to adventure on it's own!

" G L I T C H " Ridden game to be sure. So now I'm using the new Circle of Eight Mod pack Beta 5.6.0, and the game seems to work MUCH better. I still get a few stuck arrows hanging forever, or a 3 minute magic missile on occation, but most of my glitches are gone.

Two Thumbs Up

Yeah, unfortunately, fan mods are really a must for this game.

Not sure about that glitch, as I've not seen anything like that happen to me. In the future, you can click on his attack bonus number and see a breakdown of where the game thinks the numbers are coming from. Sometimes it's something weird like the battleaxe was small or it's treating it as a kama or something so you're gettign non-proficiency penalties.

Glad it's working for ya now, though.

(Use the lastest 1.3 build - it's still beta, but stable and far better than 1.2)
