DeathLord Armor Locations.
While making a DeathLord I decided to map out where all the good stuff dropped, whether from bosses, rewards or chests. I would like to add that I was playing on the Collector’s Edition; this might not work for you if you have an earlier version of the game. On Deathlord armor drop locations, I found a lot of places. There are 6 pieces of Deathlord armor, all of which have a chance of dropping from one of the Deathlord armor drop chests I’ll list later. Also to note that there is a chance of one of the 4 best shields dropping with them. So you have a chance of grabbing one of the Deathlord armor pieces of your choice and one of the 4 shields you want. (I found only one chest that doesn’t drop one of the shields with the armor.)
***I only use GameBanshee.com for walkthroughs. So all of my references will pertain to their numbered or lettered locations. ***
To find the Deathlord armor pieces that you want, what you will need to do is save your game right BEFORE you open or touch a chest, I save on 2 slots and call them “chest” and “chest 2” just in case I make a mistake and save over my “chest” save slot while reloading, I can just reload “chest 2” and not lose it.
I have my settings on hard and more encounters. Although I don’t think this makes a difference on loot chances.
>6 pieces of Deathlord armor<
Deathlord’s Belt
Deathlord Boots
Deathlord Plate
*Gauntlets of Death
Deathlord Leggings
Deathlord Shoulders
>4 best shields in which ever order you like<
Griffon Shield +10 armor/ 100% pro Magic
Shield of Anguish +10 armor/ 100% pro Fire
Shield of Sorrow +10 armor/ 100% pro Ice
Shield of the Dragon +12 armor/ 100% pro Fire, 50% pro Ice, 50% pro Magic
So to get right down to it, you will probably be vendering Deathlord armor or trying to get the other armor sets, there is that many drop places. Each chest will drop a combination of items, so if a chest has the possibility to drop say 1-2 armor and 0-1 shields, that means you could get 2 pieces of armor and 1 shield, or 2 armor and no shield, or 1 armor and 1 shield, or 1 armor and no shield. Get the picture. Any combination of 1-2 and 0-1.
1: Breeding Grounds. Also known as the Fire Drake Nesting Grounds that you get a quest to grab one of their eggs’ for a quest from the Eastern Houses guild. This location is also one of the best loot drops
The Westside chest will drop some amazing loot. It is possible to get a piece of Deathlord armor, 1 High value armor and one of the shields.
-West Chest-
1-2 High value armor
0-1 High value Shields
One of the Deathlord armor pieces will drop, one of the 4 shields, the Black Plate arguably the best chest piece, until your strike is in the 90’s, Helm of Storms if you like that, Warlock’s Hat or the Wizard’s Hat also will drop.
I choose the Deathlord Boots, Black Plate, and the Dragon Shield. Not bad at level 11, and after killing all the Fire Drakes in the area, I leveled to 14 and was able to wear it.
2: The next chest to drop Deathlord armor pieces is inside Big Bad Mog’s Safe House. Which you will need to get the quest from Maloke Brane in Skuldoon, at location #7 on the Skuldoon map. Go kill Big Bad Mog and his friends, to get the key to his Safe House.
Inside his safe house, which you can find at #11 in the Forbidden Lands, there will be two level 12 chests. The one on the Right chest will drop Graemare’s Secret Codex for the quest, a Rune Stone, a high value spell and 1 piece of armor; Assassin’s armor, Crimson armor, Mythnir armor, Black Plate, Bloodplate Belt, Helm of Storms and some lower level vender trash. The Left chest drops the Deathlord armor pieces.
-Left Chest-
1-2 High value armor
1 High value spell
1 Rune Stone
This chest, the only chest I found that drop Deathlord armor pieces but does not drop one of the 4 shields, will also drop the Helm of Lords every time, so it’s a nice trade off.
The Daimyo’s Kabuto and Helm of War will also drop here.
3: At this time I was able to complete my Deathlord third tier quest, which I picked up through the Fighters Guild. Find and kill General Trajek in the Vale of Ruin. Right before I killed him I saved the game, so I could rinse and repeat to see what he would drop. He would only drop the Deathlord Plate and the Golden Helm, After 20 tries I gave up. I already had the Black Plate, so this I socked the chest piece away till I had my strike attribute up higher.
-General Trajek-
Deathlord Plate and Golden Helm.
There are no Deathlord armor pieces in Shadow Ruin’s or inside Naga Temple.
***Tomb of Souls is loot heaven with no less then 8 chests that will drop Deathlord armor pieces. ***
Some of the loot besides Deathlord armor that will drops here; Cerderus Band, Ring of the Void, Wintering ring, Necrotic Battle Bow, Kama of the Void, Golden Katana, Katana of the Sun, Golden Wakizashi +1, all three magic Sceptre’s, Radiant Sword, Elven Night Dagger, Angelic Destroyer, Blade of Death, Darkwing Helm, Dragon Helm, Cataclysm arcane spell, just to name a few. Also there are only two level 6 chests here, all the rest are level 7, 8, and 9 and most of the Sarcophagi are free but will spawn creatures, so don’t forget to save a lot.
4: South West room at location #2 the Sarcophagus, which is free, so make sure you save before touching it and be ready for the creature spawning from it, will drop Deathlord armor pieces.
-Sarcophagus-
1-2 High value armor
0-1 High value Shields
5: Same room and is a level 8 chest.
-East Chest-
1-3 High value armor
0-1 Shields
6: Sarcophagus inside the secret room at location 3 and is a level 8 chest, will also spawn creatures and will drop Deathlord armor pieces.
-Sarcophagus-
1-2 High value armor
0-1 High value Shields
7: Directly East of #8 at the end of a hallway is a level 9 Sepulcher and will drop Deathlord armor pieces.
-Sepulcher-
1-2 High value armor
0-1 High value Shields
8: At location #11 you will need the Demon Key from the Naga Temple to enter this room. The Tomb in the center, which is free, seems to always drop the Hate Nether spell, the East level 8 chest, drops High value weapons like the Kama of the Void. The West chest is also a level 8 and will drop Deathlord armor pieces.
-West Chest-
1-2 High value armor
0-1 High value Shields
9: This chest is under water, when you try to pass the bridge at location B, the bridge will collapse and you will fall down into a pool of water at location 12. The chest on the far right is a level 8 chest and will drop Deathlord armor pieces.
-Far Right Chest-
1-2 High value armor
0-1 High value Shields
10: In the Tomb of Voraatus, there are two Sarcophagi, one in the North and one in the South. The chests in the North seem to only drop Magic spells, nether, and potions (magic) chests, and both are level 8. Voraatus will only drop the Eye you need for the quest. On the South side, the Right chest of the Sarcophagi, a level 9, will drop High value weapons like the Katana of the Sun and Kama of the Void. The Left chest is a level 8 and will drop Deathlord armor pieces.
-Left Chest on South Side-
1-2 High value armor
0-1 High value Shields
11: This one is tricky. When you get to location #19, the Watcher will give you a choice of Demon’s Steel or Demon’s Spell. If you choose Demon’s Steel, you will get Angelic Destroyer, Blade of Death and Darkwing Helm from the Sarcophagus. The West level 8 chest will give you a high value ring or trinket. The East level 8 chest will give you a high value weapon like Kama of the Void. There is no Deathlord armor drops in the Demon’s Steel room.
But if you choose the Demon’s Spell, you will get Drain Life Nether spell or Hate Nether spell and Cataclysm from the Sarcophagus. The East level 8 chest will give you a high value weapon. The West level 8 chest will give you your Deathlord armor pieces.
-Demon’s Spell, West Chest-
1-2 High value armor
0-1 High value Shields
That’s it for Tomb of Souls that I found.
11: The last chest I found is inside Irynthabl Maze. Incidentally there are two level 9 chests outside Irynthabl Maze dungeon, one in the southwest on your way, which seamed to always drop Summon Haunt Nether spell and a chest North of the Maze, which drops 2-3 powerful spells and 0-1 trinket or ring like Ward of the Witch, not a bad trinket, if you don’t have every trinket and ring, this might be a good place to try for one your missing.
Inside the Maze, there are only three chests all level 9. The one in the North East drops 2-3 Magic spells and 0-1 trinket or ring. The one in the South West, drops very nice weapons, you will always get 2 to drop, and they can both be high value weapons. Just to name a few that dropped for me; No-Dachi of Winter and Winter Katana, The Golden Axe, Bow of Elven Winter, Bladerelic of Night, Master No-Dachi, and Great Totemic Mace. The chest in the North West is the last chest I found Deathlord armor pieces to drop.
-North West Chest-
2 High value armor
1 High value Shield
All the armor seamed to be only Heavy Armor.
All in all, I found 12 possible Deathlord armor drop locations, 11 chests and 1 boss. There might be more, but I never got any to drop from any other location and I opened every chest 25 to 50 times before moving on, except for Magic chests. I only opened them 10 times. The only chest I opened more then 50 times was the chest in the Breeding Grounds, finding the right 3 armor combination took around 100 or more. It was also my first Deathlord armor chest so I might have been a little persistent on getting it right.
I started with The Fool of Fortune Heraldry and it made a big difference in the loot drop percentages, it might help you to do the same if you are having trouble getting what you want to drop faster.
I hope this helped you complete your Deathlord armor set and have fun looting.
Bloodysunday.

Other Armor sets
I decided to see how many of the armor sets I could get to drop all in one game. Single player on hard and more settings.
-----The Assassin set:
-Daimyo’s Kabuto
-Assassin Chest
-Assassin Shoulder
Probably combined with the Ninja set you can buy from the House of the Dragon in Fargrove.
-Ninja Belt
-Ninja Boots
-Ninja Garb
-Ninja Gloves
-Ninja Pants
Dynasty Shoulders?
Kasa of Day, Dreams, and/or Night (although I’ve never seen these)
Kasa of Speed is nice if you are lacking speed, otherwise I like Daimyo’s Kabuto better.
-----Crimson set:
-Crimson Gauntlets
-Crimson Plate Legs
-Crimson Plate Mail
-Crimson Boots
-Bloodplate Belt
-Dragon Shoulder Armor
-Helm of War/Helm of Lords/Conqueror’s Helm
-Shield of Anguish
-----Deathlord set:
-Deathlord’s Belt
-Deathlord Boots
-Deathlord Plate
-Gauntlets of Death
-Deathlord Leggings
-Deathlord Shoulders
-Darkwing Helm/Dragon Helm
-Shield of the Dragon/Shield of Sorrow
-----Demon set:
-Helm of Demons
-Demon Shoulders
-Demon Scale Mail
-Belt of the Fiend
-Demon Gauntlets
-Demon Scale Legs
-Demon Boots
-Shield of Demons
-----Dragon set:
-Dragon Gloves
-Dragon Helm
-Dragon Shoulders
-Shield of the Dragon
-----Gilded set:
-Gilded Gloves
-Gilded Scale Pants
-Gilded Mail
-Gilded Boots
-Centurian’s Belt
-Dragon Shoulder Armor
-Conqueror’s Helm
-Griffon Shield
It came down to the last chest in the maze, but I finally got Daimyo’s Kabuto to drop to complete all these sets. The Ninja set I just paid for.

Kasa of the Night dropped from the Ninja Lord boss. It looks better imo, with the Assassin/Ninja armor, than Daimyo's Kabuto. Daimyo's did fit perfectly with the Mythnir set though.
-----Mythnir Armor:
-Champion’s Belt
-Mythnir Boots
-Mythnir Mail
-Mythnir Gauntlets
-Daimyo’s Kabuto
-Mythnir Leggings
-Mythnir Shoulder Armor
-Defender Shield
And your right, about the Imperial armor. Although i had trouble matching a shield. Battle Shield/ Templar Shield/ Shield of Rothn/ or Defender Shield. Defender might be the obvious choice.

I think none of the three Eastern armour sets has a shield to match up. Also, the ninja mask isn't in the game, even though art for it is in the files. The kasas seem to be intended for the ninja outfit, or possibly any Eastern gear. The kabutos are 'meant' for the samurai gear, and the Imperial Helm and the Helm of War go with the Imperial gear.

The same applies to me, I also always try to have access to heavy weapons and armor, and also Identify, as it's a PITA having to walk back all the way to town if you want to know what is the item that you have found, and Identify also helps when repairing because unIDed items cannot even be repaired (very annoying). Actually, once I was playing a character without heavy armor skills and then found a really cool helm (a golden one, maybe it was from Mog's safehouse?) and used it despite not having the skill, so I had a -16 penalty for the rest of the game, but the benefits of that helm were worth that cost. Still, it's much better to have that skill.
