Funny (yet appropriate) name suggestions for your BG1 character

Post by RPGguy »

Ya, you'll have to roleplay as a gnomish bard, but what kind of humorous names can you come up with? I'll offer a few to get things rolling...

If you're soloing, the obvious name is Gnome Alone.

Fagin is also rather obvious. (You've gotta pick a pocket or two)

For a cleric, I've had Eric the Cleric, named after a friend of mine who sadly is no more.

My last paladin was PAL 9000
Last thief was Nick
Last solo ranger was, of course, The Lone Ranger
Next cleric might be Father Christmas... :D

But a gnomish bard...

Twinkletoes
Half Pint
Bass Clef
Trouble Clef
Boo wants to know...

some of those are pretty good. I'm not saying it has to be for a gnomish bard...I was just saying, if you want to give your character a funny name, one way you could justify it from a role-playing perspective is to use a gnomish bard.

Looking for names that tie into the BG1/ToSC source material especially

I was inspired by pop culture. My current Icewind Dale charactrers are:

Slash Gordon
Ax'en Rose
Christian Slayer (Woops, seeing it now, no offence meant.)
Mr. Massacree (great name for a monk, unfortunately it cannot be done in IWD)
Murderbeth
Maggy Mage

I once spotted a cheese called Monterey Jack - and this inspired me to make the most cheesy BG characters ever. Be warned - extremely bad puns ahead!!! :p

Monterey Jack - A stylish fighter/thief archaeologist with a broadrimmed hat and a whip Yea, I know you can't have a whip but he still has it in my imagination

Danablue - A sultry elven mage with pale blue skin and sapphire hair Otherwise known as Danish Blue Cheese

Sir Camembert - A fine, upstanding, noble born Paladin no reason except the name just sounds like a pally to me!

Stilton - A gnomish bard with a wickedly sharp sense of humour not to be confused with Stilton Blue who tells the most naughty jokes!

Jarlsberg - A hulking northern, barbarian beserker with a few screws loose After all Jarlsberg hails from Viking territory and has a pleasantly nutty flavour!

Emmental - A lawful good cleric Well ... Emmental is one of the more holy swiss cheeses
