** Minor spoilers ahead **
Not necessarily easter eggs but just some silly, stupid, and possibly interesting observations after playing the game umpteen times.
So, did you notice...
[Santa Monica]
-It only rains in Santa Monica.
-What's on TV at the beach house.
-The two tall statues in Therese/Jeanette's room also appear outside the entrance to LaCroix's tower.
-Jeanette's laptop has an entry "Jack" in the contact list. Could it be *the* Jack?
-Therese always stands on the left side of the room's divider (left brain?), and Jeanette always stands on the right side (right brain?). She stands in the middle when she's having her freak out.
-During the endgame gauntlet there is a helicopter on the roof of the Surfside diner.
-Despite being a thin-blood, Rosa's future insight was pretty accurate.
-That sicko Vandal is listed in Kilpatrick's Krime-puter.
[Downtown]
-The Sheriff's cloak looks like it's made of elephant or rhino skin.
-Simon Milligan, the "Haunted LA" guy in Pisha's hideout, was also the name of a character on "The Kids in the Hall" show.
-The nasty email on Simon's PC wishing him an untimely demise.
-The Prince never mentions anything about the plaguebearer. Good job maintaining the Masquerade buddy!
-The slight echo in "Nines" voice when you talk to him outside Grout's house.
-You can listen to some humorous commentary as Chunk watches the security cameras. Just re-enter dialog with him before taking the elevator up. You can do this six or seven times.
-Andrei, the Tzimisce, calls the "Deb of Night" show.
-According to Damsel Kindred can't get sick; they don't breathe either. So why does Bishop Vick cough?
-Even though fire has a strong psychological effect on Kindred, Max Strauss has a roaring fire going in the chantry.
-There is a wet bar in the Tremere's special haven... um, why?
[Hollywood]
-The arsty-fartsy Hollywood Toreadors can keep the Camarilla out of their city but the rough-and-tough Downtown Brujah can't.
-The logo on the back of the Red Spot cashier's shirt.
-The nervous horror tape courier behind the Fast Buck isn't frightened by you if you play a Nosferatu. Maybe the alley is too dark for him to see your face.
-Who knew sewers had portcullises?
-The abandoned sewer sections sure are lit well.
-For a Nosferatu, Imalia doesn't look too bad. Hmmm, with the right lighting and a little makeup I might actually...
[Chinatown]
-For Nosferatu, Barabus and Mitnick look more like a bald elves than disfigured monsters.
-Mr. Ox is Leland Gaunt from Stephen King's "Needful Things."
-The black sarcophagus lids in the Fu Syndicate also appear in the Giovanni crypts. Hmmm...
-Ming's glowing green nips... in slime form that is. I'm not sure if they glow in human form...
[Bloopers]
-Fat Larry says that the two gangs are meeting "on top of a nearby parking garage" but the Traffik quest levels go downward.
-Andrei mispronounces "Gehenna" as "go-hey-nah."
-Mitnick mispronounces "C.H.U.D" as "chad."
-Jack mispronounces "kine" as "kin."
-According to Beckett the archaeologist's name is "Ingvar Johansen" but according to the TV newsreporter it's "Anders Johansen."
[Miscellaneous]
-The dual staircase and chandeliers from the Ocean Hotel are reused in the Hallowbrook Hotel.
-Jeanette, Mr. Ox, and the PC female Malk have hetero-chromatic eyes.
-The Steyr AUG sounds really cool when fired while using celerity level 4-5.
-The hideous Nosferatu have the some of the skimpiest outfits of all the player characters. Ugh!
-Corpses fade away but bullet holes and blood stains remain forever.
-You never meet a Kindred with a favorable opinion of LaCroix. At best they are neutral toward him.
-Beckett is a good example of the True Neutral alignment in D&D.
Did you notice...? * Minor Spoilers *
Therese wan't to be the prince of Santa Monica after allrudiger24 wrote: -The two tall statues in Therese/Jeanette's room also appear outside the entrance to LaCroix's tower.
I'll bet-Jeanette's laptop has an entry "Jack" in the contact list. Could it be *the* Jack?
That is done on purpose so you can hack the computer of the other sister.-Therese always stands on the left side of the room's divider (left brain?), and Jeanette always stands on the right side (right brain?).
I placed that there in the unofficial patch because I wanted to show this unused model off and there is indeed a helicopter pad on top of LaCroix's tower.-During the endgame gauntlet there is a helicopter on the roof of the Surfside diner.
It probably is as LaCroix is supposed to have met him in Africa.-The Sheriff's cloak looks like it's made of elephant or rhino skin.
These were restored by me as well, because I thought it was a shame they were not used.-You can listen to some humourous commentary as Chunk watches the security cameras (just re-enter dialog with him before taking the elevator up). You can do this six or seven times.
Smaller territory and better organization-The arsty-fartsy Hollywood Toreadors can keep the Camarilla out of their city but the rough-and-tough Downtown Brujah can't.
That's because I placed them there to fill the two empty rooms. After all there is an active connection between Kuei-Jin and Giovanni regarding this crypt...-The black sarcophagus lids in the Fu Syndicate also appear in the Giovanni crypts. Hmmm...
Both does actually make sense. If you are detected entering the warehouse, the goons will alert two Sabbat vampires on the way out. Otherwise they will be too late to stop you. And with Larry's quest, when you sneak in the suitcase exchange will take place with the gangs killing each other off afterwards which makes the quest easier for you. Otherwise you have to fight both of them...BloodyIvy wrote:You'll get extra brownie points for sneaking into places, but it dosen't matter if you raise all hell getting out of them (warehouse, Larry's quest)!
Really? I thought Ming said her best agents were searching for the sarcophagus. Why did she send them to find it if she had some arrangement with the Giovanni? Moreover, if you enter the Giovanni mansion, without raising hell, you can listen in on the meeting at the door between the staircases. You will hear that the Giovanni took the sarcophagus and plan to use it to restore the power/status/etc. of the American Giovanni. No mention of KJ.After all there is an active connection between Kuei-Jin and Giovanni regarding this crypt...
I thought the Clang brothers simply infiltrated the G's mansion before you. I always wondered how the KJ found out who had the sarcophagus. Maybe, they tortured the info out of Barabus.
I doubt that Barabus knew about it, but I figured the KJ may have done some research on the Giovanni before the infiltrated the mansion, thus the reliefs.rudiger24 wrote: I thought the Clang brothers simply infiltrated the G's mansion before you. Its likely not for any reason other than using a model in more than one place, as it appears in the King's Way house too.rudiger24 wrote: -The two tall statues in Therese/Jeanette's room also appear outside the entrance to LaCroix's tower.
Probably is, since she mentions leaning towards siding with Issac(and thus the Anarchs) if you spare her.-Jeanette's laptop has an entry "Jack" in the contact list. Could it be *the* Jack?
Likely the best example of irony there is. Or whatever the term is.-The nasty email on Simon's PC wishing him an untimely demise.
Seems he is more interested in direct violations of the Masquerade, than indirect ones.-The Prince never mentions anything about the plaguebearer. Good job maintaining the Masquerade buddy!
LaCroix does too, though it seems he isn't interested in it in the slightest. I'd think there might be some point where you could return to the Penthouse, and find him in one of the chairs near the fire, rather than always close to the desk. That, and it seems it only effects Vampires if the fire touches their skin. Don't know why they don't have those "covers" in front of the fire, though.-Even though fire has a strong psychological effect on Kindred, Max Strauss has a roaring fire going in the chantry.
How in the hell is a disfigured creature that remotely looks human, going to scare the crap out of you when you've seen Andrei's creations?(even if he hasn't seen the worst of them).-The nervous horror tape courier behind the Fast Buck isn't frightened by you if you play a Nosferatu. Maybe the alley is too dark for him to see your face.
I don't really know why the Nosferatu might keep the Sewers lit, if they do at all, since they don't seem to need those to get to the Warrens. But I'd imagine that it might be a sort of deterrent to avoid helping every moron that needs information(namely those who have nothing to offer them).-The abandoned sewer sections sure are lit well.
I like how she thinks she got hit with the ugly stick real hard, even after she gets a good look at the female Nos PC.-For a Nosferatu, Imalia doesn't look too bad. Hmmm, with the right lighting and a little makeup I might actually...
What looks more insane than two mismatched eyes?-Jeanette, Mr. Ox, and the PC female Malk have hetero-chromatic eyes.

i find this rather ironic considering that almost every person that has played this game (that iv heard of, anyways) apparently love LaCroix as character, despite the fact that he is a backstabbing pr*ck.
(i happily second this opinion)
The Weak Shall Die So The Strong Shall Prevail, Victory Before Peace, Morrowwind ROCKS
-Despite being a thin-blood Rosa's future insight was pretty accurate.
Rosa being a fortune-teller is based (according to an older VTMB interview) off of one of the devs reading white wolf backstory about thin-bloods who can manifest unusually accurate future-sight abilities, there wasnt much written about it but he found it interesting and wrote a character based upon it and whitewolf didnt seem to mind.
(I cannot remember where i read this and if anyone can find the interview link I would love to read it again)
-The arsty-fartsy Hollywood Toreadors can keep the Camarilla out of their city but the rough-and-tough Downtown Brujah can't.
Probably due to the mini-war the Anarchs fought with the Kue-jin before the camarilla returned, Brujah being who they are, may have simply fought harder or more aggressively and simply suffered more casualties, thus making them less well off them the toreadors...
Or it could just be that Lacroix had a sweet deal on a building in downtown and didnt bother with hollywood

I think the reason LaCroix couldn't move in on the Toreadors is that their leader holds tradition as close as he professes to. To defy him would make the prince look like a liar and a fool, so for now he takes the political route of things and attempts to harass the Hollywood Toreadors indirectly through agents like the player. Nines however is a more open anarchist ready to fly in the face of vampire law for his ideals, so the prince has no trouble pressuring him directly, and it makes sense to keep his greatest rival close at hand.
Just a guess.
(Oh! And the fireplaces, I think, are a display of power. He's taken a thing of abject fear to Kindred and turned it into something casual, right there in his office.)
