Near Infinity question - Purified Sword of Arvoreen?

Hey all.
Following the much-appreciated advice about the Dwarven Thrower+3 I have downloaded Near Infinity, and aside from a few teething hassles it's all going well. I've mostly been altering NPC weapons/items to be more useful and fit better with my Level 1 NPC take on the characters.
As part of this I've tried to add the Purifier +5 effects to the Sword of Arvoreen so paladin Mazzy has a suitably Paladin-y weapon, but here my limited (copy+paste effect) skills let me down a little and I don't seem to be able to get the Dispel Magic and Mass Cure spells to actually work (and I'm not sure about the bonus vs. Chaotic Evil either). The spells show up and when you rest they get memorized, but when she casts them there's no casting graphic and they don't seem to have any effect.
Is there anything other than just plain copying and pasting the spell effects over that I should be doing to get this to work?
