Pillar Jumping

Post by PeterA »

I'm currently taking the Trial of the Ancient Elders and am in the Pillar room. I'm having a hard time jumping from pillar to pillar. So far I have managed to kill off Kyusho (so many points! ) and managed to jump from the south ledge to the west ledge. After stepping on the plate, I'm trying to get to the North ledge. I jump to the middle of the room and turn to the left. What I see is that the pillars get higher going the north. How do I jump up and forward? It's hard enough jumping forward, but up?

It's been a while since I played through this sequence, but...

You might need to catch one of the pillars with your hands and then pull yourself up. Are you getting anywhere close to the pillar when you attempt the jump?

It's also possible the pressure plates are toggles, and maybe you stepped on one twice (resetting the pillar to its original position) by mistake.

You will (or, are supposed to; it may take a few tries to get it right) grab onto and pull yourself up on the pillars that raised up, as SWCarter suggested.

I'll give it a try. Whenever I jump, I just hit the pillar and slide down. Should it look more level?

How did it go? Are you looking UP as you jump? It's been a bit since trying it, but really, I don't recall having that difficulty. Are you using the w-space command to jump forward?

Hope you've figured it out!
