Item placement

Post by Ragin Cajun »

Is there a trick or a way to place items in a particular spot?

I just got the mansion and was wondering if you could actually place items. For example...placing a bottle of wine on the wine racks, weapons on the weapon rack, gems or rings on a tabletop..things like that.

Thanks for any help.

There is a Mod that makes it simpler to do, but I have never used it, so I can't point you to a link. Someone will!

But, if you would prefer to do it without, you can. It just takes a lot of patience and fiddling about (it's easier in Walk mode, not Run) and finding the best position for the z-hand to grasp the item to put it where you want it. I have actually managed to get a feather pen into an inkwell - so it CAN be done - but only made the effort once!

You want Decorator Assistant. This is the latest version. It works relatively well, though it still takes a lot of patience to set things correctly. Of course, it takes a lot of patience to do that in vanilla Oblivion, as well, and then nothing ends up looking right. All hail the Havoc engine! ;)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

How true! Some stuff floats just above the surface, and items you put on plates are positioned differently depending where you are standing. It's VERY tricky to get 'em into a position that is acceptable from any angle. :D

Very tricky is an understatement. I remember being very stubborn once and repeating a book placement over and over again. One, after some fiddling may even turn out ok, several - dominoes! Annoyed the mana out of me!
And He whispered to me in the darkness as we lay together, Tell Me where to touch you so that I can drive you insane; tell Me where to touch you to give you ultimate pleasure, tell Me where to touch you so that we will truly own each other. And I kissed Him softly and whispered back, Touch my mind.

I HAVE got 3 books standing upright next to each other; BUT even walking past 'em was enough to scatter 'em again. Sigh... dunno why I keep trying, actually - I must be nuts!
