Is Entropic Husk an Instant Death Effect spell?

Post by mbz »

Usually instant death spells are fortitude save based.

In other words, can Entropic Husk be stoped by Death Ward and Shadow Shield?

It's an epic spell(very expensive), and relies on a melee touch attack, which can be foiled by having a high DEX+ dodge+ deflection and/or concealment. But it appears to penetrate SR, hence ignores spell mantles.

As a conjuration spell I doubt it's a "death" spell.

Further the save is will based, not fortitude.

Of course that's the real problem with the spell: will save (and in a "school" that most casters are unlikely to have a DC enhancer feat in).

What would really concern me is if mental immunity conferred immunity to the spell. (..opponents are more likely to have immunity to mental effects than death effects.)

yep, you're right.

I've tested it. Mental immunity blocks Entropic Husk. Useless spell.
