Are Mods Compatible on Steam's KOTOR?

I have been wanting to get this game on my computer for a while and now that I finally have a laptop I can do so. However, I wanted to get the game from the download service Steam. But if I do that will I be able to use mods on KOTOR? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

They should be, as long as you can determine the path in which Steam installs the game. IIRC, it's something like C:\Steam\apps\games.

Thank you! Another thing I would like to know is how do I go about adding mods? Is there a website I could use that has good mods? Or maybe a way to search for good ones? Any place that might have a way to teach me how to properly use mods or someone on the boards who doesn't mind trying to explain it to a newbie like me?

Google is your best bet to find KotOR mods. Generally, they have a readme included with the mod that explains in plain English how to install it. Most of the time, you just extract files to a certain folder. Should you have to overwrite something, back it up first.
