Newbie Requesting Help
I just started playing my BG again after having it set on the shelf for what seems like years...and I wanted to actually try some of the cheats this time around. Unfortunately for me I'm a bit dense when it comes to editting files and whatnot with a game and I can't seem to find the Baldur.ini file I'm supposed to edit. Anyone attempt to use the cheats and could you tell me where I can find the Baldur.ini file?
Go in to the program files for BG and look for a file that looks like a sheet of paper or note book with a gear on it. This will be the Baldur.ini file. Copy and paste this file in....my doc..or zip folder, any where you can remember it's at. (Just for a back up)..
Once you do this..(This is the orignal file I'm talking about...not the copy)..type the code in and save it. Start the game and enter the codes..
For some item code's look in the BG 2 forum under the topic..: CLUAConsole.

No...anywhere under Program Option.

This is for IWD
2. Look for the heading called [GAME OPTIONS]
3. Insert a line called Cheats=1
this will tell the game you want to turn on the cheating system
4. Save the file and restart Icewind Dale.

1. Open your Baldur.ini file which is in your root directory using a text editor such as Windows notepad. You may want to copy it first to another directory so you will have the original in case something goes wrong.
2. Look for the heading called [Program Options]
3. Insert a line called Debug Mode=1
this will tell the game you want to turn on the cheating system
4. Save the file and restart Baldur's Gate II.
You have to type the right one...Debug or Cheats . I don't remember which. And it has to be under the right heading...Program or Game Options as well
