Is it just my perception or are the SPAM attacks on these boards mounting unusually fast?

Or is it a matter of moderator power decreasing?

Both?

It's getting messy in here

I'm sure SPAM is always a problem here but it just seems like lately these boards are getting hit ultra hard.

I stopped taking myself seriously on the internet years ago.

Although I am distressed that this thread (meant to bring awareness to the growing SPAM on the boards) has itself taken on a SPAM-mish like tinge of its own.

It's because there was an issue with the activation code being sent to new registered users not working properly, and so Buck manually activated all members from a certain period of time back (or more likely, all unactivated members).

This allowed the spambots to join in as well.

I've reported the Russian spammer, Illulgecuppy, hopefully his/her psots will be deleted shortly and the spammer's IP address banned.
