Allistair's Ogre Finish (possible spoilers)

Post by Happy Evil »

If you remember the battle of Ostagar, cutscene where the King is betrayed and then killed in battle by the Ogre. The cutscene shows Duncan facing the Ogre that killed the king and he takes two swords, I believe, and leaps onto the chest of the creature killing him prior to his own death. I have played the game that far before and had remembered that part. I did'nt think too much about it but I was in the The tower of Ishal battling the Orgre on the top floor (2nd time through, I was commanding my character a mage) and was knocked back and down by the Ogre and could see him in the distance. All of a sudden Allistair, ala Duncan, leaps onto the beast and finishes him with the badest finishing move I have seen to date. Anybody else seen this?

Yep. That's a standard finishing move in that fight. Doesn't matter who delivers the death blow..could be Alistar, you or one of the NPCs.

Yep, I've seen it several times. I know it's just a superficial eye candy thing, but I think it's a nice touch.

The death blow must be a melee hit for the animation to trigger. Even then, it is based on luck and wont always occur when battling orges.

And can get a bit rediculous, as well.

Not in Ostagar (Obviously), but I've had Oghren jam his 2H AXE into an ogre's face like it was a blade. It SHOULD have been a cleave head in twain, shouldn't it?

And for the record, Duncan used a Dagger and a Sword, not 2 swords. THey are available in Return to Ostagar, as well.

Dagger and a Sword noted. It was one of those moments where I was wrapped up in the battle and to see my new hero Allistar fly onto his chest like that was very cool. I hope to see more even if they are a bit ridiculous.
