Not to derail the thread or over-complicate things, but I would love to know WHY you guys picked what you picked as well. It's always fun to read between the lines
Location: de'Arnise Keep - I just love this place. It always makes me feel my characters are secure and "home" when I have it as a stronghold. It's why NOT being a fighter class is hard for me, I love it that much.
Spell: Magic Missiles baby. This spell has done me too much good for too long not to love it. Again, nostalgic pick here.
Weapon: Tie. Daystar and Tuigan Bow - I will never forget the first time I found Daystar. I always like to focus on killing the undead, and this weapon made me giddy at the time. Tuigan Bow makes even thieves expert archers. I love it because of how easy it is to get, and how useful it is so early in the game.
NPC: This was tough. But overall it would be Jaheira. My characters always tend to use her as the romance option. I think her character is well developed, flawed, and strong. Plus, fighter/druids become quite powerful later. That doesn't hurt!

Ust'Natha is a place where most people see the "evil drow" full scale, for the first time. Our young <charname> pretends to be one of them, but if you did not RP an evil sob (like me!) then the contrast is huge. You're in a place with no hope, under the boot of every woman that decides to waste her time looking at you. At each step you're reminded of how treacherous the priestessess are, and how easily angered by disobedience. For any RP type of player, who stumbles through Ust'Natha for the first time, there is only death awaiting. While in vanilla Ust'Natha forces are a joke, SCSII changes the drow city into hell also mech. wise.
Inprisonment.. Well, mech. wise, its a spell that ignores magic resistance and does not allow a save. RP wise - sometimes killing a foe is just not enough, why not punish him with beign inprisoned forever. Till the very world stops existing.
Flail of Ages has an unavoidable slowing effect, you'll learn to love it in tactical mods.
Jaheira.. Well. I hate Jaheira. She's an abusive, annoying, whining hypocrite. After your lovely bunch of reta.. erm.. i mean your party.. does some good things in the world, as in rescue a village from the undead, or donate money to the churches (which, unlike in real world, are not ALWAYS corrupted) she starts whining about balance.. Which allows the player to turn into an evil, psychotic sob with no remorse. First act on the list is to leave Jaheira to die to her curse, followed by burning Harper stronghold to the ground.. Or better yet. Imprison Jaheira while she suffers horrible pain from the curse, and free her just to show how her mighty organisation burns, and she is too weak and too insignificant to do anything about it.... mmm... That is why Jaheira is my favourite character. All the others are just flat NPCs for me, and i don't even care about their dialogues, which i skipped all the time. While Jaheira is such a pain, that she almost feels alive.

Graveyard - I mostly played as an evil PC, and because of bad reputation I ofren used graveyard and tombs as a hideout and a place to rest.Besides, there are so many things going underneath surface and many missions are directly linked to the place.
Comet - actually I didn't really think much about this decision, because then I had to think too long , but it's very powerful and useful spell, that made my combats a lot easier.
Celestial Fury - stunning effect, cool design, can be obtained early in the game with some luck and experience.It's one of rare weapons that I usually kept until the end of the series.

I assume we're talking about vanilla SOA, so...
Location: Probably the Planar Sphere. It's the coolest stronghold with the potential for some excellent items. I always wished that I could turn big empty room on the lower level into a library. Close second is d'Arnise Hold for actually having a library.
Spell: Simulacrum, the spell of a thousand cheeses.
Weapon: Flail of Ages for the nice slow effect and the elemental damage to get through Stoneskin.
NPC: Haer'Dalis because he's a great tank. With the proper spells and items, he can be immune to most anything and dish it out quite well too.

Waukeen's or Trademeet, nice thrifty places with lots of things going on and lots of decent people going about their lives, hurrying, hustling and bustling. In BG I preferred the wilderness areas, but in SoA they are not as good, if even present.
Spell I do not know, there are so many useful ones.
Celestial Fury (especially if modded so it can be reforged to +5), then FoA, Daystar, MoD, modded... there are many nice ones.
Unmodded good; Minsc, Jan or Haer'Dalis. Modded good; Saerileth, Yasrena for their characters/stories- Solaufein, Kelsey or the Demigod Kensai for sheer umph, unmodded evil, Korgan, Jan or HD, modded evel I know not.

Waukeen's Promenade because; wherever I start a new game, depite having numerous saved games after exiting Irenicus's Dungeon which I could load and edit with shadow keeper: I always start from scratch, and trudge gruelingly through, picking up every item, doing every quest, just for that better-than-sex release when I emerge in the tranquil, merchantile, classically architectural the-world's-your-oyster area that is the Promenade.
Know alignment because knowledge is power.
Stiletto of Demarchess because it's a nasty, vindictive, pretty, non-overpowered, beautifully descibed, dagger of a backstabbing female thief with voice set female2.
And Imoen because she's my sister, she's an amateur thief, she's lacking in confidence, she's ginger, and there's nothing better than unleashing hell from the ultimate underdog.

What can I say, it's my inner hippy wanting to get out The hills are a nice mix of rugged and pastoral. Oh... and Valygar lives there...
Spell - Abi'dhalzims Horrid Wilting
It's the ultimate area of effect spell, takes a nasty chunk of HP out of most enemies (if not outright killing them in one shot), and it doesn't impact your party. Not to mention..... the name makes me chuckle... :devil:
Weapon - Daystar
It's most satisfying to walk into the middle of a group of undead and activating Daystar, even better if the character is also equipped with Helm of Brilliance and some kind of drain protection.
NPC - Tough call, but I think I'll settle on Jan
I just like Jan, and I also think he's a much more complex character than many give him credit for. Beneath the humour and endless stories there's a lot going on, this is especially evident during his personal quest. I like Ogrim in Dragon Age for much the same reason. Okay...beware spoilers.
The forest of Tethyr - like I said, it has a functional gibbet, so any character who can cast Dimension Door (even if it is via the potion trick) or just be sent there via Ctrl+J and then be dropped from the party gets gibbeted forever. I was going to do this with Saerileth but the demon got to her first, but still...Also, I like nature, the werewolf fight/sublot is pretty good for a minor quest, and elves are awesome.
Polymorph Other - It's just the ultimate burn on your foes. The mad Priest of Cyric in the Docks always gets turned into a retarded squirrel when I play, usually by Jan.
Dunno - so many good options! Daystar is the bomb, I love the Fire Tooth throwing dagger for it's general coolness (it's a returning throwing knife made from a dragon's tooth, come on...) and ability to safely take down Iron Golems with fire damage if they can't reach you, Azuredge is awesome not just for being one of the only ranged options for a cavalier or decent options for a berserker but also for it's undead slaying abilities (think a ranged Mace of Disruption without Level Drain Immunity), the Dwarven Thrower is just cool, the Kuo-Toa bolts hit like a 2-handed sword with stun abilities (they go great with a Light Crossbow of Speed), etc etc.
Jan - he's remarkably insightful, freaking hilarious, puts pretty much everyone in their place, has a surprising amount of depth as a character, is really useful as an Illusionist/Thief, and there are hints throughout the game that many of his fanciful stories are at least partially true...

Windspear does have Dryads though... one could spend a while there while the world went by...
