Did I mess up my romance?

Post by Teaboar »

I'm planning to play though the game with an evil party, so naturally I plan to romance Viconia. The problem is that I've had a dialogue with Jaheira twice now, and both time I replied to her politely. Now I decided to kick her from the party in order to not get too close with her, but she already had a different "reform party dialogue" (or whatever you can call it) than the normal one. I was under the impression that the Jaheira romance only starts after the harper hold quest? Is it now too late for me to start my romance with Viconia? I haven't gotten far yet, but the problem is that I'm playing soa with tactics mod (full install) ontop of which I'm playing on impossible, and I just can't be bothered to do the improved Ilyich encounter again, as I was very close to lose my nerves several times (man that took long to finish :P ).

Anyway, I'd appreciate it if someone could clear this up for me.

I'm pretty sure that removing Jaheira from your party automatically ends the romance. Also, the rom talks should start before the Harper stuff anyway.

I think so too, but I'm unsure whether or not I will be able to start the romance with Viconia now that I apparently started the Jaheira romance?

Unless you did some modding, AFAIK, you can start the various romances, but eventually they would require that you choose one.

Jaheira's romance ends if you ditch her through dialogue or if you kick her out of the party twice.

Viconia's romance takes a while to get going too. If you get desparate do a search for CLUAConsole romance cheats or use Shadowkeeper to change the romance variables and romance timers.

So do I need to go get her again and kick her another time? I'm just curious whether or not I can start the Viconia romance since I already started the Jaheira romance, but I'm hoping Ieo is right about this one.

Guys, reading the post before replying is always a good idea. Teaboar doesn't want Jaheira, he wants Vic.

I've never done this, since the option is available for males only, but i remember reading that you can have all three romanceable girls in the party, and have a first few romance talks with each one. Then the girls start to fight, and you have to choose one. From your post i suppose you haven't reached that point, so don't worry and keep playing.

And if you get impatient enough, as Ode says, rummage around the forums for the variables.

Thank you for clearing that up.

I have another question that is unrelated to the topic, but I figured I might aswell ask it here instead of starting a new thread. My main character is a fighter, and I plan to dual-class him into a cleric at fighter lvl 13. The problem I'm having is that I'd like to get haer'dalis to my party, but in order to get to him I have to walk past the mob of people that starts the evil eye quest. Seeing as I want the cleric stronghold for this character, if the priest that starts the evil eye quest initiates a dialogue with me before I dual-class into a cleric, will I be unable to get the cleric stronghold later on (as I have no cleric levels yet) or is it enough for me to have cleric levels once I complete the evil eye quest?

I'd assume you could get it by making sure you had cleric levels when it was done, but I'm not totally sure. Fighter stronghold's better anyway. :p
In the meantime, why not just install the Tweakpack so you can get whatever strongholds you want?

The thing is that I've had the fighter stronghold a lot of times, but I've never had the cleric stronghold (or atleast I've never finished the cleric stronhold events). Also my main character is chaotic evil so it should be interesting to have the talos stronghold.

Which is pretty much what I said...

I don't know if it matters, but you could always pull the "neutral NPC waiting to talk" exploit instead of installing a full-on cheat mod. That is, you'll see that mob of people before they start chattering, right? So click each one as if you want to talk to them, and they'll stop their script to wait for you. But instead of talking to them (or waiting for them to talk), run past them as quickly as possible and make sure your entire party is out of earshot. That should work to avoid the scripted priest encounter. The less exploity option is to make your party invisible with a mass invisibility spell (never tried it, but I think it should work).

I think you can enter the Lathander temple without triggering the dialogue, and exit by its other door, avoiding the mob. With careful navigation, you might get to the sewers without learning of the Unseeing eye that way.

@Ieo,
there's no need to be rude. QuenGalad was clarifying, not repeating. And, as she pointed out, please do read the original post prior to replying.
