You can find Harvall in the swamp forest near the wyverns (at #12 on this map).

The Harvall Sword
So OK I'm old and I need looking after.
I didn't even know there existed a sword called Harvall, and I'm in Chapter III, although I haven't tackled the Wyverns as yet. So there is a body somewhere that I have missed???

I also am having trouble locating the Harvall sword. I'm in chapter IV and have destroyed a lot of wyvern at the site with the two mangled corpses. There is no indication of a sword. Finally figured out the runes and meteorite sword re-forging. Have I missed the chance to get Harvall?pakmn wrote:Where can I the Harvall sword. The Sword Harvall is way back in the swamps, thought the fight to get to it is quite a challenge, particularly in chapter 2. If you happened to loot the body and not take the sword, or dropped it after looting, you may be SOL. Time to put your meteorite ores to good use.
But Harvall is a steel sword, not a silver one and will not help much against most monsters... though it dices up people nicely
Spoiler
It is on the dead messenger back near the feral wyverns
Harvall sword
Thanks for the responses. I remember the wyverns in Ch. 2 and 3, but got killed so many times that I just stayed away from the area. Don't remember seeing a sword just lying about. I now have the steel sword Gwalhir and a silver runed sword. It took me a long time to figure out that the runed sword had to be bought as well as having the runes to forge into it.
However I remember also seeing a note in the description for Harvall that it was lying by "two mangled corpses with a lot of wyverns who had probably done the mangling" but that is definitely in ch. 4 on the right side of the map near the small farm. Does it depend on which difficulty level one is using as to where these special items can be found?

No, Harvall is definately in the swamps, on the opposite side of the docks, with the wyverns, cause on my current playthrough I have it in chapter 3 and picked it up in chapter 2.
The best way to get it is to hit and run the wyverns, swooping in with swallow, blizzard and tawny owl from the south, pull one or two with you to the small island before theirs and hit them with igni and some strong silver. I only recall one dead body there named 'dead messenger' though.
In chapter 3, Moa will be there as well.

Harvall Sword
The sword is on an island slightly West of a derelict building and North of the Druid's Grove in the swamp area. It should not disappear. I spent several "days" up there and as I said in an earlier post on the subject I was not aware that the sword existed. One thing that does occur is that when you think you have killed all the Wyverns and you rest and heal by the local fire, you find the island has more wyverns on it. I found the whole area a never ending battle. You would rest and you would be woken either by swamp dwellers or bloodzuger (or what ever it is they are called)

I guess I will have to make do without Harvall since I am now in Ch. 5 I have the steel sword Gwalhir bought from the Blacksmith's son in Murky Waters, and the silver sword Aerondight (sp.?) from the Lady of the Lake and Gwalhir's stats are just as good if not better than Harvall, except for the cost.
Perhaps there should be a correction in the descriptions listing for the locations at which Harvall can be found. That is unless it depends on which version of The Witcher is being used.

Whether you have the EE or the original non EE, the place of the sword remains the same. The Enhanced Edition doesn't change that.
I have played the game myself in the original way and the EE. I had bought the original version and when the EE version came out the ones who already owned the game could simply download a big patch which turns the game into the EE version.
The exact location of Harvall is at the Wyvern Island, on the corpse of a messenger (the corpse is simply called messenger's corpse) You will have to kill a couple of wyverns. It depends on which act you are which kind of wyverns you will face. In act II this will be only regular wyverns, but in act III this will be royal ones and led by Moa. Moa is one of the trophy's and her head can be brought to the royal huntsman in Vizima's trade quarter.
You can also find the sword in act IV, in the fields near some wyverns and also on a corpse. And you can find Harvall in the module The price of Neutrality by doing sabrina's mission.
