Skirt Armour?

Post by GawainBS »

A weird question, I know, but is there some way to make your character wear a skirt armour, like the Fathien Witches, or Narako Misume from the House of the Tiger? I think it would look great for a Warwitch.

A hints are appreciated!

I tried replacing armor bitmaps to allow a female character I had to wear a civilian dress, but it caused the game to crash on load. I'm not sure if the Fathien witch skirts would do the same. I have been able to make it work with some other clothes since then, so maybe I had just done it wrong. The theory, though, would be to copy the bitmap for the Fathien witch's skirt (wherever it is; I couldn't find it in the pcef folder), and then paste and rename it to whatever armor bitmap you want it to replace.

Ok, thanks. There isn't a piece of armour that just looks like that, I guess? ;) I'll dig around a bit.

Edit: I checked in the PCHF folder, and found the generic skirts there. I copied it, and renamed it to the armour my character is currently wearing. (The Imperial Leggings, called Dynasty Leggins in the textures.) When I tried to load the game, it gave this message "Copy BMP16 to Granny Texture: Size Mismatch PCHF_DEFAULT_PANTS.BMP"
Any idea what this means, and how to fix it? I have a feeling I'm close to getting it to work, though.
(After restoring the proper textures, everything worked like before, ofcourse.)

My only very uneducated guess would be a mesh/texture issue - that the bitmap texture doesn't "fit" the allowable armor meshes for your character.

I adjusted the intended texture (Generic Green Skirt) to the required size: the game loads normally, but only the colour changed: I got a green pants, instead of the Imperial one. IMO, this makes it a model-issue.
