Malachor V Crash Issue

Post by sdijoseph »

Spoiler text:
Spoiler
Ok, so I just left the Ravager and finished the conversation with Carth. Right after he says his last line and the screen fades out, I get a black load screen that then cuts to Kreia walking up to Sion. It goes on fine until she says the bit about "you don't understand your strength is as meaningless as my hand" or something like that. After she says this, the scene where the Ebon Hawk crash lands on Malachor pops up, and then it cuts back to Kreia finishing her conversation with Sion. Then the screen goes black, but you can still access the menu. The map says that you (main character) are at malachor V trayus core, but instead of the map its just a white screen. If you save it and then load again you can walk around the trayus core and see kreia just standing there, with sion making that "I'm in a force choke" expression. When you talk to Kreia she says you should go to Dantooine and the Jedi enclave.
This is the most bizarre bug I have ever encountered, and I was wondering if anyone else had some solutions or have at least seen this before.

I have the official 1.0b patch

Also, I have the following mods installed:

TSLCRM 1.6
TSLCRM USM Compatibility Patch
USM mod
sions_arrival_fix_2_0
tsljeditemple
kotor_2_vista_fix
KOTOR Save Game Editor

I tried reinstalling and going on a much earlier save, but I keep getting the same result.

lots of mods

I've never had that crash ever, but it sounds like some of the mods you have are interfering with each other, making changes to the same character dialogue or scene scripting file, or 1 of them is screwing up the script if you made earlier dialogue choices that weren't taken properly in that mod. After talking to Carth it could be resetting or changing character states making the game think you're in a different part, and showing the crashing on Malachor accordingly.

My advice would be to uninstall your mods (you did keep copies of all original 1.0b files before you installed mods, right?) 1 by 1, and see which 1 is crashing your game.
