Weapon styles

Post by moltovir »

Does anyone know what the advantages are of placing points in one of the various weapon styles? There's no table in the manual and googling hasn't turned up anything so far..

There should be a pdf manual in your main Black Isle/BGII - SoA directory. On page 237 of this manual you will find the table you need.
If you don't have the manual (? maybe you need a ToB install ?) then give us a yell and I'll copy the table for you :)

GameFAQs' DSimpson has some pretty good guides for more detail, and the game itself should tell you what the points do when you choose them, but the short version is:
Single Weapon Style: Gives an AC Bonus and increases your critical hit range by 1.
2-Handed Weapon style: Increases your critical hit range and reduces the weapon speed factor.
Two Weapon style: reduces THAC0 penalties for dual-wielding weapons.
Sword and Shield Style: Gives an AC bonus VS ranged attacks.
