Hello fellow warriors,
I have a question about HoW.. I got into the house in the middle of Kuldahar and accepted the hairy guys offer. Then, he dissapears and im supposed to get to Lonelywood, and instead i get the Kuldahar background with a box saying "No disc in drive, place dvd in drive" Gah! The dvd is there. Now, i didnt finish the first part of the game yet, but I wanted to have a look in Lonelywood.. is that the problem, or am i missing a patch? (everything was ok so far, running Vista Home)
Any suggestions are welcome, thanks
HoW: No disc in drive??

Princess Zelda,
Welcome to the forums.
IWD, being an older game, was originally issued on a CD and not DVD. I had a similar problem with Baldur's Gate 1, which I recently picked up. This seems to occur, at least to some users, once the game is re-issued on a DVD as I have noticed a similar post to yours on a few other threads on the forum.
Fortunately for me, The "Tales of the Sword Coast" expansion that also came with it was on CD. My machine came a CD player, which I left in it when I added a DVD player. So what proved to be a work around for me was to have the BG1 "DVD" in my DVD player and the TotSC "CD" in my CD player.
Have been able to play with no problem. Don't know what you situation might be. But do try looking on some of the other forums for older games like IWD, BG1 & BG2.
