Class Strongholds with multi/dual class

Post by Wolfdyne »

Hello all, got a question.

Been playing BG 1+2 for a while and i love the game and i will probably play it until i die haha. but for all the time ive been playing i still dont know:

how does the game handle the multi and dual classes when it comes to strongholds?

For example, if i was a dual class fighter/mage, or something to that affect, would i get the fighter stronghold, the mage stronghold, or both? and if i was multi classed, would i get both? during character creation, it is something that always comes up, and i always either chicken out and select a pure single class, OR when im playing i lose interest in my current character before i can figure out for myself how they work.

Any and all help would be appreciated. :)

You can only get one stronghold. I have a fighter/mage multiclass I chose the fighter stronghold. Or if I didn't want it and decide to wait a little longer, I could have got the mage stronghold instead. Now if you have the BG2 tweak pack mod, I believe there is an optional install of getting all strongholds regardless of your class.

The BG2 Tweak Pack does allow more than one stronghold. You get two options -
1/. Being able to have every stronghold, or
2/. Being able to have all the strongholds for each class you have - ie two for dual class, two or three for multi class. This latter option seems a bit less like a cheat to me :p
