I've searched the forum and haven't found one thread relating to Error Signature's when trying to play IWD.
Both of the PC's I've installed IWD on run XP. One is the Home Version and the other is Pro. Installation has gone fine, but when I click on the IWD icon to play the game, it goes through the regular "register" questions, but just prior to the cinematics, the Microsoft Error reporting box shows up. (It doesn't make a difference if I click Send or Close. It still goes back to the Desktop).
The details of the Error is a "Error Signature" in the IWD.exe file. Now I've read a few things on Error Signatures, but I really don't understand them. Also, I've loaded a bizillion games on both PC's and have never seen this error before.
I sure hope someone can help.

After further research on Error Signature's, it appears that many gamers have this problem, but I cannot find a solution. Here's what other gamers have wrote, which is my exact problem, except it's with IWD:
1. Error Signature:
AppName: daorigins.exe AppVer: 1.0.9353.0 ModName: daorigins.exe
ModVer: 1.0.9353.0 Offset: 000153f0
2. Could someone please help me!
Oblivion installs just fine for me, but when I click Play on the main menu, a little black window appears in the top left corner of my screen and stays completely blank. After a second, an error report appears that says:
"Oblivion has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Under error signature, it says:
"AppName: oblivion.exe, AppVer: 0.1.0.228, ModName: oblivion.exe, ModVer: 0.1.0.228, Offset: 000912a6"
3. Just got codemaster racing pack from steam, DIRT2, GRID, TOCA3 are working fine (still waiting for my FUEL key) but got that stupid error on DIRT :
"dirt.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
error signature :
"AppName: dirt.exe AppVer: 1.2.0.0 ModName: dirt.exe
ModVer: 1.2.0.0 Offset: 004b0d43"
Error Signature on two different PC's
I'm not an expert, but I can give you a few tips:
1.Have you tried installing the latest IWD patch? It fixed a lot of problems.
2.In case it doesn't help, try running the game in compatibility mod. Right click on the "ID Main" shortcut, select compatibility and then check the "Run this program in the compatibility mod for" Windows 95 or Windows 98.
3.If nothing helps and nobody more proficient than I knows a solution, post your problem on BioWare's forums. They may provide you with more technical help.
Good luck.

Ya, already tried those
Ya, I installed the Patch right away and I've tried to run it in all the Compatibility modes that were available.
Most of the Error Signatures I've read online have to do with running IE, so I'm quite confused when it comes to why I'm getting this with IWD.
Thanks for the feedback though guys!

FIXED! ! ! ! (at least on one PC)
Since my CA AntiVirus was about ready to expire, I figured i'd uninstall it now, to see it if it was the cause of the Error Signature. I had disabled it during my troubleshooting, but that didn't help.
Once I uninstalled it, IWD FIRED RIGHT UP! Weeeeeeee!
Unfortunately, now I have to find another AV.
