I am starting a 1h/shield Amazon and I can't decide what weapon class i want to use.
I read that 1h axes/maces are best for 1h/shield chars, but since I couldn't find any other info I wanted to get some other feedback.
Best weapon.
Hmm, as far as I see, the best weapon is the two handed swords.
They hit a lot, and with good combo, they dealing a huge damage, and among party members, this is a fact as a mayor weapon.
I have discovered this, after the chapter 7, because now came up some to handed sword, and this useful.
I think, worthy to improve this skill. If, I know this earlier, my dwarf could have learnt this skill path, instead of two handed axes.
I hope, I helped to you.
Atis.

With 2H you cannot use a shield and thus you do not receive a second parry.
Actually there is no real better weapon. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Except magic doesn't do alot of damage. And near the end you gain access to some special weapons.
I use myself swords. First 1H and i also learned the 2H ones. The Snip (sword from gamblack) is my current weapon. Before that i used humbold's longsword.
I also have rondracomb. But keep in mind that you don't act alone. You take enemies down with your whole party, so it actually doesn't matter if you go for 1H or 2H.
