Installed Tribunal - nothing happened!

Post by Ishara »

Ok, I might quite possibly be the most blonde person in the world.

I decided to get Morrowind out again, and I did all the quests I could find. Then I realised that I actually have the Tribunal and Bloodmoon expansions, so I figured I'd give it a go. But installing Tribunal has done nothing, apart from making the launch pad more colourful. Am I missing something? I have tried going to sleep various places, but nothing happens. I thought I was meant to be attacked?

Do I have to install Bloodmoon as well? Or do I need to patch it? Do I need to start a new game instead of loading an old one? Please help!

Installing Bloodmoon then the Bloodmoon patch (you can get it here) is the best thing to do.

Once you've done that open the construction set open the Data Files Dialogue box (either front he File drop downmenu or by clicking the yellow folder icon) and you should see that both the Tribunal and Bloodmoon .ESMs are present.

When you start the game make sure to select 'Data Files' and check the boxes alongside the ESMs and everything should be fine.

It can sometimes take a long time before the first attack by the Dark Brotherhood, it's based on (pseudo) random numbers, and they are as flaky as hell. Be patient, if you get desperate and want to run a test: Save the game, open the console and type in

Journal, TR_DBAttack, 10

This should bring up the message
An attempt was made on my life as I tried to rest. I do not know who wishes me dead, but the attack should probably be reported to a guard.
If it does then everything is OK, reload and continue. If it doesn't then it would appear that you have a problem; a complete reinstall may be necessary.

I can't remember for sure, since it's been a long time since I played, but perhaps the attacks don't happen in certain 'safer' places? have you tried sleeping out in the wild?

I don't know if the locale makes a difference, I've been attacked in the Mage's Guild for instance. Which can be problematic if you land the first blow; I got attacked by my guild mates on one occasion and thrown out of the guild!

You do have to be sleeping though, waiting doesn't cut it.

I tried sleeping in the Mages guild, Caius' house and out in the open. And nothing.

Installing Bloodmoon and the patch worked! Sort of. I got the snowflake error - I think it's caused by using Windows 7 - but my better half found a fix for it. The link to the instructions he found is here:

Thank you for your help! I really appreciate it. Now there will be many more hours of Morrowind-y fun for me!
