[bug] leaving Golden temple

Post by noiz »

***edit: Solved.
Enabling console and typing in "G.Ming_met0" seems to have fixed it.
Don't forget to set it back to G.Ming_met1 when the cutscene is over.***

Another note - it's best to head directly to the Golden temple upon entering Chinatown.
Acting like a smart-ass, like I did, and doing side-quests before their time, messes things up, it seems.

Well whaddayaknow, my first post on the forums is on VtM:Bloodlines, and due to a bug.
Surely that doesn't come off as that much of a surprise, huh :D

Anywho, hi everyone. Let's get down to it.

Chinatown, just arrived, spoke to Ming Lee (pun intended) in the O.G. temple,
and upon exiting I get the cutscene of a girl being kidnapped.

Problem is, the kidnappers get stuck when they enter the alley, probably bumping into an NPC,
and the cutscene never ends.

I have the latest unofficial patch,
tried reloading
restarting the game
speaking some more with Ming Lee / meditating in the temple
middle-fingering the paper with "Caine" written on it

All I've got so far is "Aw-jeez-aw-maaan" (that line cracked me up so bad)

Any help is, of course, very much appreciated as this is a game-breaker.

You can do a few things, and some looking around, before you go to the temple. In fact, everything I have read, you should do a couple things before going in there. But there is a limit to what you can do. Take a look at the various walkthrus and they'll let you know what you can, and can't do.

Will do, thaks for the heads up.
I've been avoiding the walkthroughs so far, but I'll definitely take a look for the next re-plays.
This is my first playthrough so I want the game to bash me, it's the best way to get familiar with it imho.
Secrets, alternatives and all that jazz comes later :)

It's ok, Nolz, I understand. There are spoiler free walkthroughs, but I don't know where. The best one, I can see, is the one here. There is a ton there, but you don't have to open all of it, just enough to get you past where you are. There should also be something on youtube as well about the game, and where you are, where you want to go, etc. These are about your best bets.

True, that's how I got to be here in the first place :D
The walkthrough/info helped a lot for some minor things in the game (mostly searching for stuff like data cd's, pull toys etc).

Also, I just completed the game, last night, Anarch ending. Looked a little like Anal ending but ok.. I was really hoping for some ultimate showdown between me and good ole Caine. Ah, better luck with the next playthrough I guess :D
