Hello, friends
Recently I've dug out BG Trilogy on my external drive and decided to play this awesome saga. The problem was though that all the games were already installed and seemingly wouldn't want to start because of no registry entries. The autorun menu would just give me the "Install" option, pressing which nothing seems to happen.
So I thought that maybe someone could give me a hand and paste their BG1, 2 or ToB registry information? I would be very grateful for that! Thanks in advance
Okay, as you said that you have the saga installed on your external hardware, I have to ask you: Do you actually own the cds/dvd (and thus you actually own the games) or have you downloaded the game somewhere? If you own the discs you should try to install the games again to avoid any possible errors.
On the other hand, if you have downloaded the games, I don't think you are going to get any help here in GameBanshee as it's against the rules to support piracy, and helping someone to get his/her downloaded version to work is considered helping. Also, you should really buy the games, you should be able to find them pretty easily with cheap price.

It may not be because of not having registry entries, but because the .ini files were looking for the CD in the wrong location. If you check the .ini you should find a section like this:
If you previously used an external drive which you've removed, the ID of the drive the CD is in will have changed; try changing the drive letter to the correct one for the current location.
If not you can check your registry to see if there are entries for Baldur's Gate. On a PC running XP, ;eft clock on Start, then Run and type in Regedit, click on edit, the select Find and type in Baldur. If you have entries that should find them.
Be very careful when editing the Registry and always back up the registry first (Click on File, then select Export)
