Wild Wasteland

Hello.

Could anyone who has played all the way through or is pretty far in the game who choose this trait give your opinion if you were glad you choose it? Do you get any good items because of it or would you recommend to someone just starting out to pick a more useful trait instead.

It doesn't give you new items, rather it replaces existing rare items with other silly rare items, like a unique gauss rifle with the alien blaster. There's only two instances where it does this, too, mostly it just adds in some silly stuff here and there. There's not a ton of it, I had the trait and ran into WW-encounters maybe 5 times in total.

Remember no trait is supposed to be "useful", they're all trade-offs. Like bloody mess as a trait before it, Wild Wasteland is just a gameplay mode tweak, it's not a gameplay advantage.

The trait is sort of funny, but I think there are less than a dozen places where it pops up. Plus, while having the trait can earn you a powerful weapon, you can get a different powerful weapon for not having it. So if there are two other traits you like, then I wouldn't worry too much about WW, but if you don't see any traits you like, then there isn't any reason not to select it.

Wild wasteland is a pretty easy fit for me because aside from small frame I feel the disadvantages outweigh the advantages for the traits. From a minimax perspective. From a roleplay perspective some of the other traits are...kind of OK but I tend to let my roleplay be a little loose from my stats anyway.

This trait is very useful because (quote from game) "It brings out the craziest things in the wasteland" . Ordinary experiences are turned crazy so I guess its a good perk. Seeing as to how you look at it. Some places you wouldn't find anything there is a refrigerator with two dead bodies i n it and some food and ammo. Or an encounter with mercenaries could be turned into an encounter with aliens. The point is it could be good to people who like it or are looking for more valuable objects in the game (such as the alien gun) but others may see it as a bad perk, making their game weird or whatever. I am a big fan of the perk however. Not to mislead anyone. :eek:
