Getting only class and skills when levelling up

Started a new party, im almost done with targos quests but when i tried to level up my characters they didnt get to choose any spells or feats. I pressed record - level up. This isnt how i remember it last time i played,... am i doing something wrong? i have an aasimar and a drow if they can affect it anyhow.

You only get a feat every 3 levels. Only sorcerers and bards have to pick spells at level up.

Okay then, thanks. Its abit different than i remembered.
I cheated my sorc to lvl 30 and she got spells alright, but she doesnt get any new spells when going from lvl1 to lvl2 ?

According to D&D 3,5 Rules, the correct spell progression is [url="http://dungeons.wikia.com/wiki/SRD:Sorcerer"]as shown here, under "Spells Known"[/url]. It is clear that, by levelling up to lvl 2, the sorceror gains only a new lvl 1 spell slot (additional lvl 1 spell he may cast). He doesn't learn a new spell though.
