computer crashes after saving

I am at level 14.

I have completed # 9 of the relics: visit Isle of the damned.

Going to Shadow ruins, I save the game and when I want to restore I
get the following message.

In a little box on top of the screen:

" TerrQuad.Read Terr ObjFile Info::INVALID SLOT # 206.

Everything is jammed and I cannot restore from this point. In the last
2 or 3 days it had hapenned 2 or 3 times.

Has anyone had this problem before. Besides saving more often with
different name files, is there anything else I can do

I have read the threads. I am not using Vista on my laptop.
I am using Windows 7. But I still have the same problem.

Anyone with windows 7 having a problem ?

My understanding is that Vista and 7 have a lot in common. Did you try any of the Vista solutions (such as running the game as administrator)?

Errors

I get those all the time, specifically at the door to the inner city. I also run windows 7. My immediate advice would be to run the game in "XP Service Pack 2 or 3" Mode. It will still error but not nearly so often.
