Eschalon 1&2 Mac for free!

Post by Gartar »

I just bought Eschalon Book 1 and 2 from Gamersgate, and I got the MAC version of it for free with the purchase, and I can give away the Mac version, since I known no one that has a Mac, I figured it best to just give it away to the first person that wants it.

You need to tell me your email address and I will gift it to you(same one as your Gamersgate account I think, not sure if I can give it to people without Gamersgate accounts, but it takes like 1min to set up an account so np!)

No one wants them? Ah well, I guess most people already own them or don't have mac's. Feel free to pm me if you don't want your email address made public and still want the games.

I guess your intentions are good, but I'm not sure what you offer is legal.

Basilisk Games is offering the game on multiple platforms so people who buy it can still play if they switch from PC to Mac or vice versa. Their goal is not to give two copies for each copy purchased. People should pay to play the game. So unless you bought two copies of each game, I don't believe you can keep a copy for yourself and offer one to somebody else.

Basilisk Games is a one man company, if we want him to continue to make games we must encourage him by paying for the game. I already have the games, but if I didn't I would personally prefer to buy them than to accept your offer.

That said, I am not judging you, since I know you paid for the game. And I hope I didn't sound too patronizing, that was not my intention.

Don't see any reason why it would not be legal, I bought the game and downloaded it and played it for the pc and I have the ability to gift the Mac version to someone else(had the same with another game on gamersgate and they said they were fine with it, the option wouldn't be there if people shouldn't be able to gift it).
And I doubt the maker of the games cares much if I give away 1 of each of the games that I can't play when the store I bought them from says I can give them away :P

You don't sound patronizing, I just don't see any reason for why something would be wrong with it, since the store would not offer the option to gift it if they didn't want people to do it right?

When you buy directly from Basilisk Games, they give you the game on multiple platforms, so I thought Gamersgate did the same thing. I didn't know it was a Gamersgate promotion. I guess it's ok then. Thanks for the explanation.
