rookie question

Post by eruj »

Hello! I'm a rookie at playing games like BG and so far I'm finding it really fun. But I'm having one little problem. I can't figure out how a mage scribes a spell into his spellbook. I know I need a scroll, but I don't know what to do with it. I tryed just using it, or draging it over to the spellbook icon, I searched for any SCRIBE SPELL butons... I'm sure it's very simple and I'm just a big dummy. Oh, and by the way my mage has a 70% chance to learn a spell, don't know what that means, but maybe it helps.
Thanks a lot for any help!

Have you tried right-clicking on the spell scroll in your inventory? That should bring up the detailed information screen, and there should be a button there that lets you scribe spells.

That's correct. Make sure the right character has the spell in his inventory.
You can quicksave before trying to learn the spell so you can reload in case you fail. This can be useful as the scroll is destroyed.

Don't worry if you still can't find the scribe spell button, you might have a clerical scroll, which your mage can't use, or a scroll from a school of magic your wizard specialist type can't use.
Sage plays a paladin,
because other classes would be frowned upon for laying their hands on a wounded companion
