?: Where does the +9 and +48 come from?
2. Initiative: +0 - - - Initiative: +3
*Dex Mod (-1)+Improved Initiative Feat (+4)

3. Speed: 20ft. - - - Speed: 20ft.

4. A.C. (large): 17 (-1 size, +8 natural) - - -
touch: 9
flat-footed: 17

A.C. (huge): 19 (-2 size, -1 dex, +12 natural)
touch: 7
flat-footed: 19
?: Why is it showing +12 for natural armor instead of +11 (natural armor 8 + 3) as according to Table 4-2 Pg. 291 in 3.5 M.M.? Is this a typo? A natural armor of +3 would make sense for the flat-footed A.C. of 19 (A.C. 10 + natural armor +11 -2 size=19)...

5. Base Attack/Grapple: +4/+8 - - - Base Attack/Grapple:+11/+23
*+11 attack bonus same as 15th level Cleric/grapple bonus=11+4(Str Mod)+8(Size Grapple Mod)=23
?: Can someone explain the section of "Attack Bonus" in Table 4-1 on pg. 290 in the 3.5 M.M.?

?: Why does it show Bite-2 melee twice? Is this another typo?

?: Why is the disease DC 20 and not DC 21 (base=10+ half HD=8+ability mod=3=21)?

?: The large otyugh should have 9 skill points according to Table 5-4 on pg. 301 in the 3.5 M.M. (1xHD of 6+3=9). Hide is derived by: Dex Mod+0 & Size Mod -1=-1. Listen & Spot both have the Wis Mod of +1 in addition to +2 granted to both because of the Alertness feat which would be: Wis Mod+1 & Alertness Mod+2=Listen & Spot at +3 each. My question is, how were the 9 skill points spent here? It appears that only 6 skill points were spent to increase Listen & Spot by 3 ranks each to make both +6…Using the same formula for the huge otyugh would grant it 18 total skill points & I am also uncertain on how that example used those said points…
Answers to any of the above questions are appreciated. :cool:

1:From the con modifier * Hd + Toughness feat (6*1)+3=9 and (15*3)+3=48

4:I got to agree with you here. Don't know where they got +4 from. A.C. 10 + natural armor +11 -2 size -1 Dex=18

5:Creatures use the same attack bonus table players use, so a 15th level cleric and a 15HD aberration both use the medium attack bonus (HD*3/4) with is 11

7:looks like it.

9:Half HD is actually 7.5 rounded down to 7. You almost always round down

13:the large Otyugh does have 9 points spent, 3 in Listen, 3 in spot and 3 in hide. table 7-1 MM page 314 shows that large creatures have a -4 to hide (3 points + 0 Dex -4 Size) The huge one added 3 points to each of these skills. So hide 6 -8 size -1 dex = -3, spot and listen 6 +1 wis +2 alertness =9
