I can't get it to work.
I have an Acer Aspire with Windows 7 Ultimate, a GeForce GT 220, 2.80 GHz AMD Athlon II X2 240 Processor and 8 gigs of RAM. Sort of okay, I guess. I've installed Virtual PC and XP Mode on my computer to see if I could get my horribly slow Icewind Dale 2 to run in an XP environment.
I can't start up Icewind Dale in full screen. It has to be in windowed mode, and if I try to change it into full screen in-game, I get this errormessage:
"An Assertion failed in ChVidImage.ccp at line number 5431".
I have a vague idea that it's the virtual graphics card that's messing up everything. Apparently the graphics card in XP Mode is a so-called:
Virtual PC Integration Components S3 Trio 32/64
aaaaand... I can't find drivers or whatever online to update or fix my problem. The screen resolution in my XP-simulation is limited in choice, as is my color quality, etc.
What to do? S3 Trio 32/64 is a dead end, as far as I can tell. All the links I've been able to dig up so far are dead.
Edit: Ohh, and it's probably worth mentioning that in XP Mode the game has pretty much slowed down to a crawl.
XP Mode and Icewind Dale 2.
