Improving schematics

Post by galraen »

According to the manual when you get a second schematic it improves the one you've already got. So I got a second shishkebab schematic, read the note and sure enough it asaid 10% improvement. So I make another shishkebab, and it is in fact identical to the first, no improvement at all. Are all schematics broken like this? Is there a fix?

PS I know I've overlooked things in the past with this game, but I've really exhaustively checked everything, and it really is broken this time!

The 10% "improvement" only affects the condition of the weapon when built, though 10% is incorrect. The first schematic gives 75% or your repair skill condition when built. Two schematics gives 100% of your repair skill condition when built, and three gives 125%.

The new one should be in better condition. Can't remember if FO3 worked this way or not, but in NV a weapon will do the same damage as long as it's above a certain condition threshold, so if your repair skill was already pretty high when you made the first one, the new one might not do any more damage even if it is in better condition. If the condition of both is identical, that sounds like a bug.

Weapon condition can't go above 100%, so if your repair skill is already 100, finding the third schematic won't do you any good at all.
Can the answer to this question be "No"?

So the description is just totally misleading then, cos when you have 100 in repair there is no improvement as such. Thanks for the clarification guys. I should have realised that a company that would lie about the game's genre would lie about anything!

PS I still consider that 'broken'. I'm off to the repair shop (CS) to fix it! :D

PPS Fixed
