CLUAConsole on Windows 7

Post by Stworca »

It seems that now i'm in need of assistance :)

I cannot get cluaconsole to work on windows 7, i've tried both Debug Mode=1 and Cheats=1, but it seems that w7.. brace yourself.. doesn't even load baldur.ini.

I moved it from bg2 folder, and the game runs just fine without it.

The console is crucial for the let's play, as most of the strings i'll have to launch manually.

So.. anyone knows how to fix this?

How did you attempt to edit the file?

In my experience, you need to run the file as an administrator (through right-click option, it doesn't matter if you are the administrator of the computer, this still needs to be done). Hopefully that helps.

I'm also assuming that you have the original version of BGII (four CDs for SoA and one for ToB, not any download version).

Yes.

Done.

The very same i've been using for the last three to five years.

As i've said, BG2 seems to not care for the .ini file at all.. I'll try running it in xp comp. mode. Will post results in a bit

Edit : It seems that this might work. I've got "You appear to be running the game for the first time" screen after i set it to xp mode.

Edit 2 : Ok, it works. Lost my saves, and characters, and everything else.. But the DIALOGUE is unchanged! See for yourself :D Scroll to 4:50 and make sure to watch in HD.

Also mute the video, for your own sake.
