This time the basic patch has become a lot more basic , and again you do not need any prior patch - installing 7.4 over any older patch will work. But make sure to start a new game after installing this patch.

Unofficial Patch 7.4 released!
After not touching this game for quite a while (actually years, I think), I decided to play it again. Hello, Wesp, hope you remember me.
I'm using this patch with the hotfix and stuff (7.4a).
I've just finished the game as a female Tremere (as always) and now I'm finally playing as a female Malkavian, I can't say I'm having that much fun but, oh well, it's almost the same experience.
Anyway, I wanted to report an old bug which supposedly had been fixed already, it's regarding Gary's e-mails offering his posters; on both runs I had the very same bug, I think it kicks in when LaCroix sends you the e-mail to ask you to get a bad review to the restaurant in Hollywood, or somewhere around that part of the game. When you check your computer in your haven you get his message offering the Ming Xiao poster (the last poster you're supposed to get), and since you need to spend a lot of EXP to raise lockpicking to get the necessary item he wants, most players will get it much, much later in the game, also, the one offering Jeanette's poster never arrives (unless you restrain yourself from opening the Ming Xiao one).
Also on this matter, the VV poster is already hanged on the wall when you get the Ming Xiao offering message, so it just appears there without you having to even earn it. Hope you can take a look at this problem and I also hope nothing else gets messed up when fixing this.
Another very old bug, and to be honest it surprised me it hasn't been fixed in all these years, is a random bug when you try to use your computer (if you have your haven in the Skyeline Apts.) and you can't interact with it, which ruins the rest of the game. This one has just kicked in my present game and now I'm stuck, I'll try to restore to a previous saved state (and replay a big chunk of the game :angry and see if it doesn't happen again.
Thank you in advance!

Ah, that's the reason! You are obviously playing the basic patch where you can get VV's poster from herself, which then messes up the order of the other posters. I'll have to remove that again !][_aVey wrote: Also on this matter, the VV poster is already hanged on the wall when you get the Ming Xiao offering message, so it just appears there without you having to even earn it.
I've read about this a lot and usually even more weird things happen at the same time like the Skyeline haven filling up with strange random models. This has never happened to me though, so I wouldn't know how to fix it. Seems pretty much random to me.Another very old bug, and to be honest it surprised me it hasn't been fixed in all these years, is a random bug when you try to use your computer (if you have your haven in the Skyeline Apts.) and you can't interact with it, which ruins the rest of the game.
Thank you for the reply, Wesp, glad to hear that the posters bug can be fixed.
A little update: as many gamers know by now, the Skyeline Apts. is the place most filled with bugs in the entire game. I was able to interact with the haven's computr again by resetting my PC. Just loading to an earlier saved state doesn't fix it; I don't know if you have to reset your PC or only close the game and then open it again, I'll let you know if the bug kicks in again. My advice is to make a save each time you're gonna enter the building, hope that helps, cya.

Another update: Just been playing and the bug kicked in again, you only need to close the game and open it again and it should be alright.

Well, this has happened to me, too. I assume its a game engine bug, i.e. a memory error in the game engine itself.Wesp5 wrote: I've read about this a lot and usually even more weird things happen at the same time like the Skyeline haven filling up with strange random models. I try to avoid it by saving often, restarting the game often, and always having a backtrack save. I dont think you can really fix it with a fan patch, unless we program a full new engine for the game.
