Baldur's Gate and Windows 7 (new)

Post by Soul »

I cannot install BG on Win 7. Clicking on "INSTALL" from autorun.exe or double-clicking on setup.exe from the CD1 yields the same result: the waiting hourglass for about 5 secs, then nothing. I have the latest SP and all updates. Using Compatability Mode on setup.exe doesn't work.
What can I do??

Try running the setup.exe as an admin. Haven't had a problem installing the game from my old CDs on windows 7.

On a related note, just got a new netbook and hoping that download version of BG (from GOG) will run . . . any thoughts?

Windows 7 Starter 32 bit
Atom CPU N455 1.66 GHz
2.0G RAM
Intel graphics media accelerator 3150

The GoG version is deffinitely compatible with Windows 7. And pretty much any new computer can run infinity engine games.

Hi, if you or anyone else are still having this problem try closing all windows after you pressed the setup - it worked for me at least.
