Do Talents Stack?

Post by Gartar »

I just decided to start playing The Witcher again to get ready for the sequel, and I haven't played it since it came out, and cannot for the life of me remember if talents stacked or not, for example Crushing Blow 1 makes my Strong Steel attacks do 20% more damage, and Crushing Blow 2 makes them do 25% more damage, does taking both of them make me do 45% more damage(seems logical) or does Crushing Blow 2 only add an extra 5% more damage?

I think they don't stack. IIRC, if you increase Vitality with 50 and then by 75, you've only gained 25 when going from 50 to 75, if that makes sense.

You should post this on the Official Witcher Fora, I think they know more about the mechanics.

According to the manual, combat style enhancements are not stackable but sign and attribute enhancements are stackable.

From what I understand your attacks are broken into 1, 2, 3, and 5. For example you hit a coupla times with your sword. Thats 1. Then you have the opportunity if you click at the right time to bring it to 2. Then 3, then 5.

Four is not a sequence, rather it is is a special 'active' move.

So crushing 1 kicks in on the '1' sequence of fighting. Crushing 2 kicks in on the 2 sequence.

Does that make sense to you?
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
