Planescape: Torment Dialogue Stats

Post by Gartar »

Greetings, I'm just playing through Planescape: Torment for the first time, and I was wondering how much of an effect stats like Wisdom/Intellect/Charisma have on dialogue? is it worth making a character with just those stats?, I usually always build my character so I get lots of extra dialogue options.

Standard PST powergaming works this way. Max the mental stats and play a wimp hiding behind party members who's afraid of street thugs to squeeze out every possible dialogue and quest XP (although you can get unlimited XP more easily just by fighting).

You can basically ignore Charisma, it affects only a few dialogues. Storywise the most important is Wisdom as it unlocks memories. Since you're playing for the first time, you should pay attention to the other stats aswell so that the game doesn't get too difficult for you. Gameplaywise the best stat is Constitution because at some point you get such a ridiculous health and regeneration rate that you're virtually unkillable.
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

Ok, I will stop putting points in to Charisma and focus on Int, Wisdom and Con.

Btw another question if you don't mind, is there anyway to high like objects like when you press tab in BG2, IWD, NWN, DA, etc?
