I managed to sell in Flotsam the Diagrams you start with, like Swallow, Hanged Man Venom,... The merchants don't keep them in their inventory, apparently. And I forget you have to have the diagram in your inventory to be able to brew the potion...
So, any chance I can obtain copies of these later in the game again?

Just checked it, yes, you can rebuy those recipes in chapter II. Haven't figured out the system yet but I'm pretty sure it's like this: Each chapter has predefined recipes and diagrams in NPCs inventories, and in chapter 1 you can have (obviously) chapter 1 recipes and diagrams, chapter 2 1+2 and so on.
Besides, I'm pretty sure you can get all those recipes again from merchants in Flotsam. Check up on Fioravanti and Bartok. They should have them, or maybe Anezka.
As for pre-order items, yes you get them all from the beginning, though in the middle of my playthrough I got herbalist's gloves (Alchemy Suit), mage's trousers (Mage Suit), and I can't frankly remember about the others, I vendored them, though I think I didn't get Blue Stripes Jacket. Retail premium edition here.

I rechecked every vendor I met so far, yet none offered the diagrams I sold. Perhaps I didn't filter correctly. Checked very toroughly: none of my sold items are in stock anymore. Damnation.

Concerning the pre-order items, yes, that's what's supposed to happen, you should get them all. I just said that I didn't restart my main playthrough when 1.2 came, so when I loaded an essentially 1.1 savegame I think I got all the items as well, oh and I just remembered, besides the mentioned items above, Ultimate Swordsman Suit consists of several weapon oils. So, yeah you get all the stuff on any savegame.
Oh and there's difference with formulas (bombs, oils, potions) and diagrams (crafting armors, weapons and other crafting material), it's just the name, but might be worth noting. Crafters like blacksmiths, leatherworkers etc sell mostly diagrams, or only diagrams, while herb merchants, potion dealers and general merchants tend to sell both formulas and diagrams.

As for the vendors, I checked from a Chapter I save, there's a few recipes on Fioravanti (he's in the Merchant's Quarter, in front of the Louis Merse's house (that's the town's vice president, or something), and the recipes which you're looking for (Swallow and the basic ones etc) are sold by Anezka (she's a witch living in...open the map, check that lonely house on the eastern side of the small stream next to the east side of Flotsam
